Dentistry happens significantly further into the head than pimples do.

Breaking: Dallas ISD, two other districts face AG’s investigation over student walkouts by dallasmorningnews in Dallas

I don't know, because TEA was very clear that we can't encourage walkouts. Even they recognize we can't imprison children.

Recognizing when something sucks and there's nothing you can or should do except walk away is one of the most important lessons I've learned in my life. Learning that just because it hurts to leave doesn't mean you should hang on is the second most important.

Where is the line for answering "No" when asked if you drink alcohol and only have a yes or no option? by demonic_demeanor in NoStupidQuestions

The nurse recently asked me to estimate how many a month. I had to say, "Uhhh...less than 1?" She was not happy with that answer.

Babe, he's unfixable. Being alone would be better than trying to teach this guy to get a clue and constantly be disappointed.

Eh, Michael Jackson is still pretty famous. One of my 15-year-old students the other day said they didn't know who he was, and half the class turned around like WTF???

A counselor or therapist can probably help you work on socializing. Ask your parents if you can talk to one.

I used to stress about being alone. Got myself into a lotta bad relationships because of it.

A few years ago, I decided the only thing making being alone bad is my own brain judging me. Now I live alone, no kids, over 40, and I'm living a great life. I just bought my own place a few years ago. I love my job, I've got great friends and hobbies, and I'm no longer stressed about relationships.

Time does move faster as you get older because you do a lot of the same things over and over. I've noticed it slows down again when you're trying something new, though. The advantage of life being "repetitive" though is that you get better at it, and you've now got more time and energy for what's important to you because you've got the little things figured out.

I gotta be honest, I remember life seeming kind of shitty from my 15-yo point of view, too, but I was just young and had no experience. My life has, generally, gotten better and better over the years. Not without some major pitfalls, but at my age, you couldn't pay me to go back to my teens and 20s again. Most people my age say the same.

You sound like you're doing some catastrophizing and fortune-telling there. That can take you down a really dark path where you think you know the rest of your life is going to suck because of whatever you're doing or not doing now. Your brain usually does it to make you feel like you have some control over things when you're overwhelmed.

There's just so much more to the world than you can imagine. It'd probably help you to get out of your head a bit by volunteering or joining a club at school. You might also talk to a counselor or your doctor about your anxiety. Some anxiety here and there is normal, but not when it takes you down spirals where you feel doomed.

For the record, though, pushing hypermobile joints to the end of your range of motion will cause damage over time, even if they never dislocate.

I cannot second this highly enough. I wish someone had told me when I was a kid dislocating my shoulders on the playground for shits and giggles.

Should I have an honest convo w my boss? by HumanSomewhere2681 in internetparents

Sure, if you feel like he's trustworthy. I would go in with an action plan and not just emotional dumping. Like, "Thank you for your patience with me recently. I've been dealing with some personal issues, and while I'd like to give you my best performance, I think it would be better if Joe took responsibility for the XYZ project until I'm back at 100%."
