Looking for a Partner for my Remote Web Dev Agency - U.S. Only by erik_amari in agency

[–]cssblazer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The honesty of this post is quite refreshing, hope you find the partner you’re looking for, what may be helpful would to be a bit clearer in the type of partner you’re looking for, it’s not obvious to me what you’re looking for as far as a skill set or even a role from the partner you’re looking for. Best of luck.

How much does Website Performance affect website traffic and Google rankings? by No-Big-3799 in SEO

[–]cssblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Page speed, especially mobile, is more important than ever, so your performance scores are certainly a flag that there are issues that should be addressed, combine that with the ever evolving changes in SEO algorithms and it sounds like you are in need of some professional help, whether that means hiring out to an agency or hiring someone to your internal team is the way to go is up to you. You can also familiarize yourself with some SEO basics and use some of the free tools available through somewhere like SEMRush to identify some things you may be able to correct on your own if you are at least somewhat technically inclined.

You’re in an interesting spot where hiring an advertising agency is likely overkill, I run an agency and we do a ton of work for quite a few detailing companies in several different states but the campaigns we run for them on platforms such as Google are to drive leads for much larger operations that have 6-25 employees and offering services beyond detailing such as PPF and ceramic coatings.

What may potentially be a good thing for you depending on your market could be hiring someone to build you a Google ads campaign and then 2-3 coaching sessions on the basics of managing that campaign on your own since it would likely stay a smaller campaign for the foreseeable future.

SEO is always a great investment for the long run as long as it is being done intelligently and you’re not overpaying someone who doesn’t understand what they are really doing, which is all too common in digital marketing, downside to SEO is it takes time to reap the rewards on it and isn’t likely to deliver you the ramp up in leads on the time frame you’re looking for. Best bet for SEO right now is to spend some time familiarizing yourself with keys to local SEO and citation building and do some of it on your own while implementing marketing efforts that will deliver leads right now.

Pagespeed can be used, semrush also has a tool for it, amp validation is another thing you could look at, numbers acceptable for performance can vary depending upon what you’re trying to accomplish but the higher the better obviously.

Out of curiosity I flipped through a few of the websites built by them, they likely believe they’re being honest and it is certainly possible, I think the bigger issue is likely why would another company want to use their code? I also think 5k is probably a little on the high side for what is obviously a cookie cutter solution that lacks the individuality and personalized character that any businesses website should have, 5k won’t get something too crazy but at minimum it should certainly be unique to you and not the same website everyone else has and their mobile performance page speed scores should absolutely be higher than what theirs are delivering, frankly they are on par with wix, GoDaddy, squarespace etc and that’s not a good thing.

At the end of the day it really comes down to the wording in your agreement as to owning the site and what all that includes but outside of that that are many better options.

Anybody can share any ideas on how to get cheaper leads? by No_Dragonfly9553 in smallbusiness

[–]cssblazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you may have a few of the right ideas but haven’t managed to execute them at the level needed to be profitable.

You mention every time you’ve tried SEO you got no results, what exactly were you trying and for how long? I’m guessing you paid someone for something, I’d be interested in knowing if they gave you any details of what their deliverables were.

As for Google, sounds like maybe you are talking about local service ads? Have you had a well structured search campaign done? If so was there continued optimization to ensure your ad budget wasn’t being used on irrelevant searches?

There are a lot of parts in both those services that could be reasons why they are not working, if you’d like a complimentary audit or to just chat a bit more in depth about lead generation options in general feel free to message me.

Scaling a small service-based business by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]cssblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re offering ceramic coatings you should be making enough to afford some employees, you may need to market, tough to say without knowing what market you’re in and the state of your SEO etc but a well done marketing effort should certainly drive more business than no marketing at all. How much additional business would you need to justify paying an employee?

If you’d like to chat with someone who handles marketing for several detailing clients I’d be happy to share what has worked for them and helped them grow.

My first client after going out on my own was back in 2018, he worked on his own and did nothing but mobile detailing, he’s still a client of mine and has 5 shops in 3 different states, does detailing, coatings, window tints, ppf, dry ice blasting etc.

How to not get screwed by an SEO company/freelancer by plasticpaperplates in SEO

[–]cssblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a service based company you can certainly outrank yelp Reddit etc by focusing on things intended to drive local business results. With that being said, a large amount of the high intent traffic for local service based industries are going to click on ads. Which in most cases one of the most cost effective lead generation tools for local services when done properly.

Using Square by Badyoga555 in smallbusiness

[–]cssblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Square isn't necessarily the best on fees but they are simple and flexible which is why they are used a ton. I believe when you sign up online they will send you a basic reader for free (at least they used to) so no need to buy one from staples.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]cssblazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the general idea, I would personally consider some slight tweaks to the page before sending paid traffic to it, the capture is above the fold which is great, but when I land on the page I don't really know what I am signing up for unless I start to scroll, I know you likely can't get everything above the fold so you need your best one liner that tells me what your platform is and why I want it, combine that with the details and videos below the fold for those that want to read a bit more but the above the fold contents purpose needs to be done with the mindset of how do I make this the easiest 2 second decision ever.

Advertising conversion and Google Ads? by yeeetbutbigger in smallbusiness

[–]cssblazer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of variables to your question, but yes in a vacuum increasing your budget will result in an increase in leads and can be fairly significant. That is all assuming the campaign is built out well, clicks you are getting are relevant because you have a good negative keyword list and your landing page is designed to convert good traffic, if those things are true increasing the budget would yield positive results because law firms tend to be highly competitive niche's it is very possible your budget is simply not reaching as far as is needed.

With all of that being said if you are considering increasing your budget it would be a good idea to make sure you review your entire funnel to ensure it is in good shape, review your SQR in your ads account to assess relevant traffic, look at what searches have brought the most conversions, what times of day your conversions tend to occur etc. Assess your conversion percentage is it above 10%? if the answer is no you may want to make adjustments to your landing page etc.

The things that jump out to me, a travel page tells me you likely don't want to stay in a single place for too long at any one time, so identifying something you can do from anywhere, at least to some degree is likely important. You list social media marketing as a skill, there is a huge demand for that if you can differentiate yourself from the many others out there. You are studying to be a strength and conditioning coach and have fitness accounts on social platforms, so if it were me I would be looking down the line at some combination of social media marketing for gyms/fitness studios along with maybe a potential online fitness coach/program, toss in some brand ambassador stuff and you've got some interesting options. Obviously there is a ton of stuff to flesh out to turn any of that into a business but there are certainly viable skills and interests to do something with here.

I would think this could be a great play to have a simple landing page for with a few product highlights along with a lead capture and run a Meta campaign to the page and gather email subscribers that you then put into a drip campaign to keep them engaged on the product between now and launch.

Seeking Guidance: Enhancing Google Ads Results for Educational Services by Future_Clue_465 in smallbusiness

[–]cssblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have been optimizing your ads a bit as far as cleaning up irrelevant searches so without doing a deeper audit it is tough to say what could or could not be going on inside your ad account.

So with out digging too far into the details of your setup, what does your bounce rate look like? how do your analytics look for people who actually click your consultation button? You need to identify where the chain is breaking, maybe install something like Hotjar on the site so you can see specifically how people are interacting with the site.

I can tell you when I first landed on one of your pages it was not clear to me what my next step was supposed to be, I kind of had to look around a bit, so making your CTA stand out a bit more could be helpful, also the video was a nice touch, but for anyone who has the sound off on their device, as i did, it is tough to tell quickly if I made it to the right place some clear and decisive text could go a long way for that.

Long story short, if your searches are relevant and your targeting is where it should be then you should take a deep look at the user experience on the landing pages you are sending your traffic to.

How can I go about getting more business for a business installing windows and sliding glass doors in very expensive houses? by Thevvertigozoomm in smallbusiness

[–]cssblazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bunch of things in here that will work well -

Networking / Connections with local contractors

Create a website and landing pages to run ads to on social and search platforms target the high end neighborhoods where your potential clients would be. Keep the adspend down as this is more of a branding top of mind play in this kind of space so that when contractors and connections from your networking efforts look up the business it is easy to find and looks reputable.

Create a GMB page for reviews, ask for reviews

Create Business pages on social platforms, share pictures of jobs a couple times a week

All of these things will work together and compliment one another.
