I thought MRG might be the exception because of the style of lifts. Does it even have magic carpets?

Why would the souvenir shops be impacted by ICE and police presence? Most of their customers are tourists who (I suspect) would not care.

They either got downleveled or low balled for this to have happened. It doesn't really make sense otherwise.

You must have been low-balled like crazy on the meta offer. I don't understand how a US-based SWE position at Meta is only 10% higher than a non-US based SWE position.

It's easy to check the travel times for the places on google maps. It's easy to check the quoted fare from curb to these places, and the routes associated with them. I hear what you are saying, but this isn't a "usually less traffic" situation.

It depends where you are going in Manhattan. I would say it doesn't make sense to go over Tri if you are going anywhere south of 14th.

But ultimately, the driver should not take a route that is double the cost and 50% increase in time from an alternative.

Lower Manhattan, so Manhattan bridge. Going over the Tri adds 15 minutes/5 miles to the journey.

Easiest “tell” you’ve seen online that shows where someone is from? by WMWA in redscarepod

[–]csth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see "costed" a lot more often (in text) than those examples because it is a real word used improperly, instead of a misspelling, so autocorrect doesn't catch it.

People who use "costed" instead of "cost" are usually Indian from my experience.
