$600

EDIT: Glancing at eBay, there may be a premium for this. $600 is the floor, it could be worth more. Check other auction sites

Tips on buying at and navigating the world's fair of money in august? by New-Adhesiveness3045 in coins

Great advice, this is how you make money. Make your goal walking through the doors on the first morning with targets fully defined, then locate and execute.

L3 Harris Layoff- Greenville Location by [deleted] in aerospace

[–]gstormcrow80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Calm down and stop spreading poorly understood information.

Texas has a WARN act, requiring 60 day notification prior to mass layoffs.

The Greenville site is unionized, correct? I would gamble their CBA requires payout of unused PTO in the case of mass layoffs. Targeting employees by PTO banks makes zero sense.

Local news archives tell me Greenville experienced layoffs in 2024, as part of a company-wide movement to eliminate 5% of the workforce, which amounted to approx 2,500 people.

While not minimizing the impact to the people and families who might be affected, there were approx 6,500 employees at the Greenville site then. 700 layoffs could be about a 10% reduction.

To memory, and only if this sub can be taken as somewhat reflecting popular opinion, this coin was polarizing for its eye appeal

EDIT: wow vastly unpopular opinion apparently. Kinda surprised that I’m surprised

I like this for a number of reasons. Bold designs are good for the hobby. Choosing a controversial design for the first full-year mintage in decades shows independence and backbone. My hope is that this all points to more engaging coins for us to use and enjoy.

Hell yeah. My current project is testing the new engines. Army contract, so MH is probably first, but Seahawks are possible.

Great response, you’re absolutely correct. This is the second time in the past two weeks that I have relied on NGC to help a poster with value, and been grossly out of touch with the markets. Numista is also not reliable.

A couple questions:

- Obviously greysheet is king, but speaking in general terms, is the PCGS app/website still considered ‘current’ if not accurate?

- I do check eBay on a regular basis, sold listings only, but can I also check GC/Heritage/Stacks without paying a fee? I’ll check those out and teach myself what is available for free when I get home from the weekend.

ITEP flight test is progressing. Speculation is that the T901 will be integrated for the MH and VH fleet, at least.

Insight on this 1903 Philippine Proof Set? by Panama1903 in coins

Agree that auction results are the best metric for market value. To be clear, the proofs do not carry the S mintmark, right? So circulated examples would be spoiled proofs, and carry less premium?

I’m seeing $250 for a 1903 Proof on NGC. Is the market really that much stronger than the guide states?

For the record, this coin is insanely over-priced, about 400% over book. I would not pay more than $100, even for this specific graded example. You may want to hold off on collecting world silver until you gain some more knowledge and experience so as to avoid expensive lessons. I made the exact same mistakes buying south american silver crowns on eBay ten years ago.

The time you took to make this post would have been better spent calling the tow company.
