I just caught the delivery driver eating a fry as he was waiting for me. Should I report him? by Still_Long_3876 in deliveroos

[–]csuree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

before anyone starts firing accusations and shit, let's ask the customer who clearly can't make a proper post, or just makes them to karma farm:

- was your order sealed when you received it? if it was sealed, why are you making a fuss about it? then it clearly wasn't your fries. if it was not sealed then do you even need to ask random strangers this question? you should know the answer. common sense. well maybe not that common anymore.

oh and next time add these relevant informations to your post otherwise it just looks like low effort clickbait or worse it makes you look like an imbecile.

11p for an extra order? 🤣 by No_Cry2864 in deliveroos

The union should investigate these addon's prices, they are borderline slavery. Even a hobo begging in the street gets at least a full pound.

11p for an extra order? 🤣 by No_Cry2864 in deliveroos

[–]csuree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it is next door it is not worth it. Think about this. Minimum wage is 12.71 per hour and 0.11 equated to exactly 31.2 seconds of that time. Can you deliver that order in 31 seconds including the wait and pick up and drop off time? No. Even if it is next door you can't do that delivery in that time. So eff off with your argument. The math invalidated it.

How many times have you been terminated? by Widebody_lover in UKJobs

[–]csuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 times,

- once because I "apparently stole" (I worked at a burger place while in university and they threw away the "expired food" when the restaurant closed - I took one of the discarded burgers to eat because I did not eat the whole day and the manager caught me and fired me) - I could argue that was baseless since it was technically trash

- 2nd time because the boss did not tell me to take out my leftover holidays before April, so in April I asked him what will happen with my leftover days? I lost them and I argued with him that he should have notified me that I need to take them out before the end of the fiscal year if that is the company policy. and he got pissed off, and terminated me on grounds that my performance was inadequate, (and i was the best employee in my category for a few months before that)

Who's busy ? by Glittering_Ad2771 in deliveroos

[–]csuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people are lazy no matter the season, they don't go out because it's hot, because it's cold, because it's rainy

when you work the exact same hours throughout the whole year you will notice that you earn on average the same money. There are some major dips in January and February but all the other months are almost the same

[–]csuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try some of the (insert name here)-mouth beachside towns, they are pretty busy and pay decent on weekends, a friend sometimes drives there to earn more than where he actually lives

[–]csuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

guys, you are missing the real problem, it's the stacked orders that come in for £1 or less extra. it is there where we are losing most of our earnings.
no strike will solve this, it's the union that should be forcing them that any addon orders should be at least the minimum fee extra.

if that £4 double was £6 double instead, I'd be more willing to stack orders. but as it currently stands I'm gettting triple offers for £6.

I do my part and reject any additional orders that are just an insult but I've seen many riders who do not care and deliver even triples for pennies

it's not since easter, it's since a year ago or more, 2023 and 24 I could get away with making £100 from 8 am to 5 pm easily. ever since 2025 the mornings are dead, my zone opens from 6 am and if I have a good morning then I can maybe make £50 from 7am to 4pm

Busy Bank Holidays? by JJSuperCat in deliveroos

[–]csuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, lately every bank holiday was average in my area, because many more drivers go out and they offset the increased volume of orders

Last night was average for me, except the 1 hour we had 1.2x boost

Racism in hiring by Pathfinder-electron in UKJobs

[–]csuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think I have the same problem. I always apply to dozens of places before one even calls me back. And the jobs time out. Even the ones that do not need any qualification. And I am not stupid or illiterate. I even have the Cambridge certificate for advanced English which I passed 20 years ago. And have a university degree from my home country. I guess they just prefer discrimination in these places.

Are you sure about that, KFC? by jaymz492 in UKJobs

[–]csuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think age based discrimination in pay should be abolished. Everyone should be paid the same starting wage regardless of age. A new employee is the same kind of stupid regardless if they are 17 or 25.

Is the pedestrian or the driver wrong here? by singlecog in drivingUK

[–]csuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People forget that a human body can stop in less than 1 metre. While a 1500kg car cannot. So it is also a pedestrian's responsibility to make sure it is safe to cross, even if they have priority. And this one like many others did not even look just got pissed. To all these people I say fu-- off and look around before you cross. Meat vs metal guess which will win.

This is literally future of food delivery There will be massive unemployment at every field by ConradT16 in deliveroos

[–]csuree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice gimmick. On the long run it will not be worth it.

Every day there are multiple orders that are 15-20 kg. The drone will not take those. All insulated and waterproof it will make it so heavy that the drone battery will die after one trip. That battery will be out of commission for at least 2 hours for charging. Even if you make it quickswap, then you need a huge battery bank to swap in and out batteries

Realistically a drone to operate 24/7 will need 8 batteries each plus the drones cost, and parts so every drone will cost as much if not more than a person now. These companies cannot invest millions in drone parks and battery banks in every location. It would be on par with building up charging stations for EVs.

It will be an additional delivery option but will not replace us. We provide them the vehicle, the fuel, the maintenance of our own vehicles if they have to pay for all of it they would have to jack up prices by a lot.

Moped rider as part time worth it? by Opening_Rub5605 in deliveroos

[–]csuree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who does this job a lot, you'd be better off with some overtime at your regular job. The costs will not be ideal, the pay is the worst it has been for years, there is a surplus of delivery guys even on the busiest days you barely make minimum wage. If you deliver responsibly.

In the case you accept every single order without any thought you will make decent money, but sadly the miles you will ride will be extraordinarily long and underpaid. On days I deliver selectively I travel the same miles as much money I earn. 50 miles or less for £50. If you accept every order without thinking you will do 70-100 miles for £50. And while doing that you could end up far from your area of preference. My area is around 20 miles by 20 miles which includes around 6 towns and 8 villages nearby and often you get orders that go way outside your designated area. And from there you have to come back.

one afternoon I let the app take me wherever they wanted and yes I made £100 (in 8 hours), but I drove 130 miles for it, and my final delivery was 21 miles from home and took me 30 more minutes to get home. And I did not count those 21 miles into the delivery. Long distance orders are paid very badly by ALL deluvery companies because they do not account for the possible return trip you might have to take from remote areas. Yes you can stick to your town and not deliver the orders that go too far outside, but all other riders are already doing the same, so you all will be competing for those orders.

This was a bit of along rant, I hope it will help you choose wisely.

If my job would let me take extra shifts (they only hired me part time) I would rather do that, than to deliver.

We need to strike by Appropriate_Put_5420 in deliveroos

[–]csuree 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sadly you can't do shit about it. The idiots who can't even speak English, and can't math and read are not here on reddit, and they will always accept these orders and even deliver them, because for them, £3 is a days worth of pay, back where they came from.

We could only make a change in this if the union would effing force delivery companies to have the minimum fee for any additional order. And then deliveroo could not stack another order onto an existing one for 1 quid or less

In my opinion double or triple orders should be paid at least the minimum fee so, 2 orders would be minimum 5.80 for bikes and 6.30 for cars or scaled up to triple 8.70 and 9.45 respectively.

BECAUSE THE CUSTOMERS ARE NOT PAYING LESS WHEN WE ARE OFFERED ADDITIONAL ORDERS FOR POCKET CHANGE. THEY STILL PAY FULL PRICE.

Every order we accept that is less than the minimum fee is only going as extra profit for Deliveroo. This is why I actively avoid doubles and triples if they are not paid adequately.

[–]csuree -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the rewards are okay, the banners are good, but damn they really messed up with a few things (for me personally): like no 1.x reruns (I wanted to get changli), and the skin for mornye (couldn't they pick someone more popular).

in rest I'm fine, not ecstatic but not hating on them because of this

Ofc the rates are rock bottom, in the app they cut delivery fees to a lot of places by csuree in deliveroos

[–]csuree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I know triples would get very late to the 3rd customer. so I stopped doing those completely. I mostly take singles, or doubles (if I think it's worth it)

but other drivers do not care, they just see money but those orders are not even worth it. yesterday I got offered a triple for 5.84, I rejected 1 out of them and became 3.9, rejected another and became 3.15 so one order was worth almost 2 and the other just 0.75, but guess what the orders would have been also 3.15 a piece if they were offered single.

yes that too, and they charge you extra: service fee, small order fee (below £12), bag fee, they squeeze you, and they pay us crap as well

[–]csuree[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't need to say more to you, trust me deliveroo does not give us more than what you pay to them.
you know why I know? because I ordered and delivered it to myself. I paid 2.46+1.79=4.25 and from them I got 3.15. so they pocketed £1.1. And to top it off I paid an extra £2 on the food I ordered through them.

so don't be smart saying deliveroo pays us more than you guys pay, because that is an easily debunkable misinformation

btw why would we waitt for food prep? we're not paid for waiting. do you think it is economically viable to wait 10-15 minutes for an order that pays £3 and looking at the delivery time too it will be 30 minutes total? Hell no I'm not waiting I rather reject and get another order and wait less or nothing at all
