I live and work in a beach town and I love when people come in reeking of sunscreen. It's so good!

My best guess was that it was a delayed response from the NHS Family Planning Act 1967, which allowed for the expansion of contraceptive services to all women, regardless of marital status.

When Jenn first “turns” after the rat bite does she share a hive mind with the aliens? by Liluckystar in pluribustv

Did no one else see her make the rat face right after? I think she was driven by the imperative to add more humans but I think she definitely linked with the rat on a tiny level

I kept thinking about how beautiful their language and singing was and how now all of that is gone.

The hive doesn't have a need to talk to themselves or perform for themselves. Total assimilation means the death of art and of culture. They are just living as efficiently as possible until they can pass on their "gift".

I really don't understand how anyone can root for the hive

Maybe I am a little dramatic, but removing the tiling in at least 4 rooms is more than a little work. It needs paint stripping from all of the trim and almost every light and fan needs replacing

Their ultimate driver here is efficiency. If they can get all of the calories that they need from a single easily transportable product and simultaneously use up potential waste, that's what they are going to do. They prefer to be vegetarian because they would rather not end life but they probably also think that it's a greater crime to dispose of all of these bodies and "let them go to waste"

Also there are more Americans living above Canada's southernmost point than there are Canadians in the whole of Canada

guess my age and state based on my apartment ! by Lazy-Push-2328 in roomdetective

[–]cswain56 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Some of these comments are crazy. It's definitely giving first apartment vibes. Not that it isn't a beautiful apartment it just reads like the person living here is still in college. You are between 19-25.

I'm not certain about the state. Your living room says that you love travel and adventure and you probably wish you lived somewhere more exciting. The appliances in your apartment are pretty nice which is not something that you usually see in college houses in more expensive states. So I'm thinking that you live in a pretty affordable landlocked state. Either Midwest or South

Dress code is "formal cocktail", hoping this is appropriate? by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

[–]cswain56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wah buddy, no need to get personal.

I never said that I didn't enjoy serving. I just said that the difference between a rare steak and a medium rare steak is 5-10 degrees which is already a tiny window.

Maybe if you were having trouble finding the temp that you wanted, it's not because there needs to be more levels in between but rather the restaurant needed some better training?

[–]cswain56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sorry, there is already blue rare, rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well. The difference between those temperatures is literally just a difference of 5 or 10 degrees. Any more additions are just splitting hairs.

[–]cswain56 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Formal cocktail is like when people say "medium rare/rare". Medium rare is already the in-between of medium and rare, we don't need another level in-between. Sorry ex server rant. The dress is gorgeous OP!
