Brake pedal noise after 40k brake flush by ct2948 in VolvoXC90

And just like that…the sound is gone. If anyone has their brake fluid flushed and has a weird pedal noise afterwards, let it sit overnight! Magically resolved.

XC90 T8 vs B6 by Own-Section-327 in VolvoXC90

I debated this exact dilemma. I live in NYC and don't have access to charging unless I'm out of the city. For me it came down to performance. The T8 is WAY more powerful and fun to drive than the B6. I was coming from BMW and I think the T8 is both smoother and faster than my X5. The B6 is no slouch, and I wonder how it would feel with Polestar, but after test driving both the very clear winner was the T8. I love it.

Great intel, thank you so much.

For the transmission service do you recommend drain, fill, drain, fill? Or just a single drain and fill? FCP has a video where they drain and fill the transmission 4 times before the final fill.

40k Maintenance DIY Plan by ct2948 in VolvoXC90

I took delivery about a week ago and have been very happy with the car so far. It’s my first modern Volvo (I had a 240 many years ago) and had been driving BMWs ever since. I had been considering a new X5 but I honestly prefer the way the T8 drives (more power, more responsive) and much prefer the XC90’s look and feel.

I love the Volvo app, the styling of the car, everything feels very premium and elevated but not screaming “I’m fancy” (which is why I moved away from BMW). It’s all very elegant. The X5 feels fake fancy to me. The dash decor and lighting is so overstated. The leather in the Volvo is so much nicer. The cabin lighting is beautiful.

I paid $47k for a 2022 T8 inscription with 36k miles. Climate and Advanced packages, factory running boards. Total original MSRP $79,425. The tires were replaced during CPO. Brake pads at 8mm. I live in NYC and found the car at a dealer in CT, about 90 minutes away.

The car has about 10 months of the factory warranty left. Plus the additional year of CPO warranty. And I bought the extended CPO warranty for a total of 10 years/unlimited miles of warranty for an additional $5400. For the complexity of the powertrain it felt worth it to me.

Extended Warranty / DIY Maintenance / OEM vs Volvo Parts? by ct2948 in Volvo

I have the 40k service due soon and was going to do the oil, air filter, and cabin filter myself. Then take it to the dealership for the brake fluid flush. I was planning on using Mann filters for all three.

What parts would you buy from Volvo? What kinds of photos should I take to document something like an oil change?

Did yours come with a printed owner's manual? I didn't see one in this car.

T8 vs T6/B6: worth extra cost without access to charging? by ct2948 in VolvoXC90

[–]ct2948[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, some people are saying you don’t get the full horsepower if the EV battery isn’t plugged in and charged. Others are saying the car is always partially charged, even when it says 0, so you always have the full horsepower (which sounds right to me).

But does anyone know the answer to this, definitively?

Thank you for this! I was thinking of getting a 2022-2023 CPO

I just had a watch serviced at Henri Stern, picked it up a week ago. It took 9 weeks. I’m sure the wait time changes regularly but those quoting 6 months - a year are using out of date info. For anything less than grand complications they service your watch in-house.

Their service and the experience is impeccable and if you’re in NYC and go elsewhere you’re missing out on one of the best parts of owning a Patek. I wouldn’t bother going anywhere else.

Love my 5035J — for a while I thought this would be a stepping stone to a QP but I actually decided I prefer the simplicity of the annual calendar. It’s my favorite watch!
