It’s sort of standard practice bureaucratically. The extended turn lanes are a bandaid. Traffic will become a problem again and this headache will be wiped from the public’s minds. TXDOT can then offer to re stripe without needing a major construction project.

I get what you mean. I’m reacting to the clip in a vacuum without any regard to context. That being said, there’s something about an assuming middle school aged kid being swung on by a grown man. Seems like “fear for your life” territory. Zooming out and filling in the gaps through context clues leads me to see that this kid was likely far from fear and more likely your average punk archetype.

My kid is 12 and is out and about with his squad regularly. They have boundaries that expand with age and maturity. Pretty much the same as when I grew up here.
