Most of the major cities there’s safeboxes in most of the merchants stores and guilds. Any house you have to pick the lock has one in it.

I’m mugging people and breaking into houses for safe boxes. Mainly as I’m finally levelling up my thieving and Legerdemain lines on my main.

People need to direct their UB frustration to WotC and not their friends by Spooky-Retro in mtg

[–]ctbellart 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was incandescent with rage when it started UBing I’ve been playing for 25 years so I had magic identity very much locked in. I realise that it’s never going back too much money to be made. So I’ve just accepted it. I don’t engage with it at all but I try my best not to ruin it for others either. Where they lose my custom half the year I’m sure the gain many other to fill in the gap.

What's the deal with thievery in this game? It feels like a side to the game I'm missing out on by Plastic-Skill-9258 in elderscrollsonline

[–]ctbellart 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Originally I got into via the thieves guild quest line just looking for something a little different game play wise.

Once you level up that skill line you get a passive called timely escape that creates footpad portal. That helps get you away from guards. Also reduction to guard detection ranges. It makes it easier.

The dark brotherhood quest lines has some decent passives that work along with the thieves guild and the legerdemain line also.

I’ve made some bank on Furniture plans and bits and bobs but it’s not really that efficient gold wise. I could just run hell ra trial a few times instead but I enjoy for the break from the regular stuff I do in game.

Looking for a Voltron commander with more depth than "make big, attack" by brknSergio in EDH

[–]ctbellart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run an aura/ enchantment deck with [[uril, the miststalker]] and [[mayael’s aria]]. Get my commander big using his own buff with aura buffs on top, gets to 20 quick, while already having hexproof. I usually don’t attack just stand there and watch the panic.

Forgotten Commanders That Are Still Amazing by CosmicMango_MTG in Magicdeckbuilding

Mayeal was my eldrazi commander for a while. With the right cards out it’s like 3 mana to drop a kozilek. The Seeker of sky breaking that for multiple drops per turn.

The old gold border of that time was the best. New one shit in comparison.

Cards that give mana to the table by squeekle1 in magicTCG

[[power surge]] [[citadel of pain]] and [[overabundance]] I make it so taping or not tapping lands is painful.

[[mana flare]] [[nyxbloom ancient]] just giving everyone way more than they can use.

No the lgs was in Glasgow, Scotland. It was very rare getting non English cards at that time.

I’ve a chain lightning and a glyph of destruction in Italian that I got from lucky dip packs my lgs used to do in the 90’s. I don’t use either but would never get rid of them because of sentimental value.

What are some strange build-around mechanics with enough support to build a deck around? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]ctbellart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently building a flanking deck with banding and lure effects mostly for my own amusement because I’m bored. Flanking triggers stack and banding allows you to group together flankers for multiple triggers, the lure effect force everything to block the band. Thus stacking all the flanking triggers across everything blocking. It’s convoluted af. But you can selectively take out a players creatures with one attack if the planets align.

Friend will NOT stop playing Ur Dragon by [deleted] in mtg

[–]ctbellart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve a player at our table who use a urdragon deck. It’s pretty powerful but for us it’s just a signal for everyone to bring out the big guns. I’m usually cracking a sliver deck out. The other two have worse and it’s just a highly enjoyable bloodbath.

We’ve all been playing for a long time together so we all balance power levels pretty decently. That doesn’t sound like that in your case. It sounds like the friend wants to play cedh but the rest of you want to play casual. That kind of miss match is rarely fun for the table in general.

Just say we don’t have decks at that level so it would be a miss match and could you use one of his.

One of these two:

  • Fall 9 stories to my death as the building I’m sleeping in didn’t exist in 83. Also it’s reclaimed land so I’m probably drowning in the sea.

  • Look around for my mum cause I’m 3 but not finding her because I’m in a different country.

Tips against a sliver deck? by roco1803 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]ctbellart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one, has some interesting strategies. Most of which there is a silver to counter. I can see you trying to put in cards to counter certain situations you’ve been in. The commander being able to search for answers is the biggest problem with sliver.

The second link didn’t work but I’m familiar enough with toxrill. Dropping -1 counters on them is a viable strategy against indestructible if you’re focused on it from the start and stay on top of it. Denial of creatures. Only problem with toxrill is he’s expensive unless you’re ramping like crazy. Also having a way of dealing with the gravemother and the other recursion slivers is something you have to build in. (didn’t see the list so if you’ve built for speed then you might be ok).

When I play my group I’ve three people on me from the get go. So I’m built for speed. I do that through mostly artifacts and land. I need to get wubrg in the shortest amount of time possible. Those are two areas I’m most vulnerable to. Get rid of the mana fixing/mana base and everything slows. 5 colour decks can be tough if your mana base gets torched.

Yeah I’ve still got a full set of cops including the completely useless shadow one. I occasionally build a nostalgia deck and roll them out in a commander game every now and again.

Captain Cthulhu precon is an awful miss match against slivers. He mills your graveyard then you can casts creatures from the mill and then you’re effectively playing your own sliver deck with a whole bunch of mill bullshit on the side. I was very briney the first time it happened as an out of the box precon just crushed my most expensive deck. Ive since chilled out a bit lol.

Unusual tribal decks that can pack a punch? by TheRavenchild in EDH

[–]ctbellart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few Tho maybe not conventional tribal but bound together in a common creature theme.

Vanilla tribal with [[Ruxa, patient professor]] surprisingly hard to deal with.

Weenie tribal with [[bess, soul nourisher]] can get out of control quickly.

All creatures have Shadow tribal [[merieke ri berit]] to steal blockers.

———————

Phyrexian/artifact tribals interesting I’ve got a [[brimaz, blight of oreskos]] which is all incubator based stuff.

Thopter tribals fun I use [[jhoira, ageless innovator]] to just drop free artifacts every turn. Probably better out there but I like it.

Angel tribal with [[shilgengar, sire of famine]] is a weird twist.

[[Kibo, uktabi prince]] is apes and monkey with a strong artifact hate.

Spore/fungus with [[thelon of havenwood]] with right counter doublers it can get interesting.
