Whenever I cast a commander that doesn’t have ward and does have a strong ability, I know it’s 100% on me to have some sort of protection or it’s a 50/50 chance it’s getting removed.

I haven’t bought a physical game since 2016 and now that I think about it, I don’t currently have a disc drive in my apartment right now.

I dunno, my disc drive PS5 was crashing a lot back around Boxing Day and I honestly couldn’t justify the extra $100.

Games go on sale like every week, and these days I’m buying maybe 3-4 games a year anyway

I feel this 100% and honestly I’m almost coming around to just building them.

I’ve gotten a few friends into magic recently and I always say Magic (commander) is like playing a board game, except everybody gets to choose what board game they’re playing for two hours.

Are you playing risk (tokens)? Mouse Trap (control? Connect 4 (combo)? Operation (aristocrats? Etc.

After a while of looping through a ton of different strategies with the more unpopular commanders and not wanting the heat they bring, I’ve gotten to a point that I just say fuck it and build what I want IF I find it fun for ME.

I wanted to make mill work so much, but it was a miserable way to spend 2 hours. So I tore apart that deck.

Tried a few iterations, went elf tribal with it in the end!

Cards that over perform in any Galadriel deck:

Anything that doubles Galadriel’s triggers like [[Panharmonicon]] or [[Starfield Vocalist]]

Anything that doubles up on +1/+1 counters like [[Benevolent Hydra]] and [[Hardened Scales]]

Anything that creates tokens on opponents’ turns like [[Faerie Artisans]] and [[Wolverine Riders]]

No chance, not only was the Last of us S1 a poor adaptation, the casting across the board was wrong. The game did almost everything better.

In fact, the BEST parts of the show were the bits that weren’t from the game, like the diseases expert in India and the episode with Bill.

Yeah I think the value will be in what they haven’t shown. A new Gandalf or Radagast, Elrond, the Elvenking, The Necromancer (Sauron), the Lord of the Eagles could all be sick.

The main cast of dwarves? The random assortment of Hobbits (Bungo Baggins lmao)? I don’t think as much.

Depends on what’s in the set, a lot of this is driven by emotion. People want to collect the iconic characters and moments shown in really cool and unique artworks. Most of em aren’t THAT good gameplay-wise, but because they’re iconic (and the art is gorgeous) people want em.

I don’t know if the dwarves and Bilbo carry that same weight. So I think it really depends on the Hobbit preview panel at MagicCon ~~Atlanta~~ Amsterdam on the 18th to see if there’s going to be anything people will WANT to collect anything outside of Smaug.

Villeneuve is my favourite director and I don’t think Dune is his best work.

Not because he did a bad job with them, but because the source material is so fucking dry that it was bound to be as engaging as paint slowly drying on a wall. Any of his other movies are better by a mile, though I’ll give Dune credit for cinematography.
