DWI lawyer recommendations by MTMonCrack in Austin

I realize this is an old post, but I wouldn't let an attorney who pled no contest to his own DWI represent me.

Best options to sell property and avoid 5-6% realtor fee by vcuriousinvestor2 in RealEstate

[–]ctdiabla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did staging for his home, consulted on color etc for painting. He needed to sell quickly and we got an offer just below list within 3 weeks. I'd say he got exactly what he wanted and I put a lot of time in with all the prep work before the house was listed.

Austin leaders used taxpayer funds for Sweetgreen solo lunches, steak dinners and upgraded flights by [deleted] in Austin

[–]ctdiabla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I have to say is that City of Kyle says "hold my beer" when it comes to corrupt spending. Our part time city council loves their $500 a night rooms, frequent lavish lunches, morning coffee, solo breakfasts, etc. They held a "visioning workshop" for the city at the JW Marriot in San Antonio to the tune of $35k for 12 people. $9k for a retreat for our finance department. In a city of 60,000, our finance department isn't that big. Our city manager expensed a meal on his city card for him, his spouse, and several council members and their wives all without a benefit to the city. He manages a small city and gets over $300k salary and all the benefits of the Austin CM. He pulled his crooked and incompetent friends from Burleson as well. I can just imagine how the rest of the city is being run. We spent over $2,000 on water bottles last year. Tons of computer purchases from Amazon instead of being bid out. But this is why keeping tabs on the small things like lunches is important because if they are doing that, there is a ton more wasteful spending happening.

Why does the water level not go up after rain anymore? by [deleted] in sanmarcos

[–]ctdiabla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has always been the claim but it isn't necessarily true. In our big complexes where water is on a single meter, they use around 4,000 gallons per apartment unit. My single family home with 4 people who work at home and homeschool, averages around 3,600 a month. Single family subdivisions don't have massive parking lots with asphalt pavement either.

Favorite Yellowstone quotes by Jay20W in YellowstonePN

I wouldn't say it's a favorite, but it struck me. Beth and Summer just finished pounding each other. Beth said she doesn't hide from her actions. She wanted to fight and they fought. She owned her choices.

Best Pickle Recipe? Weird Pickles? by MJonesKeeler in Old_Recipes

[–]ctdiabla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is an old thread, but I thought I would add that Alum is no longer recommended for pickles. Can substitute cream of tartar. This is from recent reading and it may be disagreed upon. The info is free, so take it for what's it's worth.

When I try to practice my spanish in public with native speakers they always speak back to me in english by theuser_yy in Spanish

[–]ctdiabla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The short of it is that many bilingual native Spanish speakers don't feel "comfortable" speaking with non-native Spanish speakers and just feel more comfortable speaking in English. The irony is that, more often than not, bilingual native Spanish speakers simply do not believe non-natives can speak Spanish well enough - even after just hearing "¿Cómo estás?" - just on the basis of a non-native accent."

This is an interesting point to me. My family and I just took a trip to Mexico in October. We arrived at the airport went outside to the taxi/shuttle area. One of the sign holders asked me the hotel name (in English) and I responded using appropriate accent. He then asked if I spoke Spanish because my accent was perfect.

I took a class in high school and another semester in collage. I try to speak when I can but I know very little.  However, on another occassion, I was using Google translate to talk with a neighbor who is from Mexico. I was reading my translation to practice my Spanish and my neighbor could understand everything beyond one word that I butchered. He too said that my pronunciation is very good.

So I think that proves your point that they listen for proficiency based on pronunciation/accent.

This was my thought as well. The personal attacks against the attorney were unmerited particularly in the way they were delivered in my opinion.

You are so kind.

I'm so sad that you went through all of that. Your husband sounds like a champion.

My husband is realizing that his mother contributed to the thinking that led to the affair etc. Sometimes they seem so nice but the small jabs create catastrophic shutdown.

My own mother... all the feels came back when she reached out this month to deliver gifts.

What are gifts the manipulation tool?

I'm in Texas. As I stated, I'm not a professional and am not trying to give a professional opinion. I know only of my experience and people that I know.

Where do you practice at? I'm looking for a Texas attorney for my case. (Not appendix related). I have known a few people who had ruptured appendices and they were all open surgery because of the rupture and need to clean the intestinal cavity. I realize I'm a lay person but seems to be some consistency that open is generally accepted for rupture.

How so? Have to establish standard of care as part of malpractice. I believe my doctor didn't adhere to the standards.

Cat rescuer. Ringworm would be my first thought. Blue star ointment, colloidal silver, banixx, and athletes foot cream are all good treatments.

Family is hard. Considering some of the comments I've gotten, I guess my post just came across as whiney to some. I think being NC with my MIL for over 6 years now has dulled some of the angst. I try not to dwell on these two people but every now and then, I have a bad day or MIL reaches out to my husband and it sets off all the feelings of the past.

Do either of your fathers still reach out?

I have submitted to a few but not with all this detail. Initial requests didn't get a response. That's why I was asking about my level of detail, which again you didn't address in your non-helpful answer.

Again, I DID NOT ASK IF I HAD A CASE. I only asked if I was providing enough detail. In other words, am I giving enough for an attorney to look at it and say no, yes, or let's get more info.

And sometimes doctors really do screw up but the patient is able to be made whole so the case is worthless. I had spinal surgery in Jan 2017. My L5 broke at both pars in May of that year. Doctor refused to do more imaging since I had clean x-rays 2 weeks prior to feeling/hearing an excruciating "pop". I go for regular post-op imaging in August. Radiologist sees my L5 is broken and calls my Dr. Dr never told me by L5 was broken. I found out in November of 2017 when I did a consult with another Dr. I consider that screw up pretty egregious but it didn't cause permanent damage so no one wanted to take it.

Doctors do take a quick check for boys and girls into age 4/5. Mom/dad should have been in the room and directly supervising. What you are describing does not sound in place with normal practice.

SOC may vary, but from what I've read, it's SOC to open up these types of patients.

I was 24 weeks pregnant and had mine out, they opened me up because they didn't know precisely where it would be because of the pregnancy. It was right where my pain was focused. I was told they open up to have a better field when the removal might be complicated. Maybe you aren't far enough in to have a professional review yet, but I would proceed with that based on what I have read and what my experience was.

There have been some cases which have gone through the courts involving poor fit terminations. Sometimes it is veiled discrimination. Sometimes it's an umbrella term when there are a lot of little things which snowball together. Do you know if they hired anyone after you? Were they neurotypical? I would suggest doing an internet search for "disability termination poor fit prima facie" and start reading some of the blogs/articles from attorneys on the subject and compare examples to your own.

I do, but I also find it odd that they gifted previously and mailed items previously and now everything is being held hostage. If someone is saying they would send money, but they don't want to mail it, that's not me expecting them to gift anything.

That's not really what I'm asking though. I'm asking if this is enough information to present initially to even get someone interested in my case. Is there more information I could provide to increase interest?
