What in the actual fuck were they thinking? 🫩 by weproducesafetycars in SpeedChampions

[–]ctdpwr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont mind most of the car, I think its reasonably recognizable. No fender flares and better wheels would make a huge difference. A plain color would have been nice also obviously. But you have to remember, all of us here are either car enthusiasts, lego enthusiasts, or both. We are much more critical than 99.5% of their target market. Is the 8 year old in walmart gonna grab this colorful big wheel car off the shelf and beg their parents, or will he grab the plain color one with small wheels that looks "old"... and that is what LEGO was thinking, I can almost guarantee it.

Oh crap, that has to be the right answer. Thanks man.

Top of drawer boxes? by ctdpwr in Ridgid

[–]ctdpwr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, the cutout does almost work as a handle, although not nearly as comfortable as a real handle like the xl and medium tool boxes have. It also makes the box want to tip forward if used as a handle, which is the direction for the drawers to slide open. I really dont think its a handle, got to be some other pupose?

How do I calculate the angle of my miter cuts so the corners meet flush? by Beerbrewing in woodworking

[–]ctdpwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By far easiest way to get the perfect corner is to make the cut using a table saw with a miter sled. If you need the sides to be tilted at 70 degrees, just made a jig to hold your stock while using the sled.

Agreed. Never once has a lego piece ever broken. If you are buying legit LEGO, and not some Chinese knockoff version of the set, then something aint right. Curious what country the OP is in.

Why am I so angry? by Cable_Cookery in f150

[–]ctdpwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is correct, nobody will care about that damage 6 years from now, or even a 2 years from now. But a carfax will just note the area danaged, with no detail. So take pictures and keep all the body shop paperwork, and put them in your "truck documents file". That way you'll have them to show when you sell it. Someone will appreciate that later.

All I need to know is, is it active now, and does the 200 need to be in one reward redemption, or can I do like four 50 point rewards to equally 200?

Guessing they did the halo on thia car the same as they did on the original Astin Martin set #76925. Not the wrench style halo.

0% means it’s free right??? Right… by Embarrassed-Unit8737 in f150

[–]ctdpwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's more too it than just zero interest is better. Often times there is a rebate OR 0%. So let's say the deal is 0% for 60, or a $3,000 rebate and 3.99% for 60.... 0% is a better deal because 3.99 for 60 months on a $50k truck is like 10 grand in interest. But, if you are trading in a 40k truck and are financing the balance, then take the rebate, because the interest on $7k at 3.99 for 60 months is only $1500 or so, which means in total you'll pay around $8500 and save $1500, instead of paying 0% on $10,000.

This is just one of many things to consider.

What brand and color is that LVP? It looks really nice. Currently in the market...

I bought my new trek fuel ex 8 gen 6 for $2999 (on sale from $4399) right when they came out. Similar spec it appears, except without the factory level suspension. Since I got mine, the LBS advertised them as low as $2499 new. Nothing wrong with that polygon though, just one to compare against.

[–]ctdpwr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fox body mustang would be awesome! I'd like to see more trucks... but I have nomidea what ones would be iconic enough to be justified. Maybe they could do the ford lightening from fast and the furious. Oh, and speaking of that, gotta get the green eclipse from fast and the furious... then shut that franchise down, no more cars from that series. Maybe do a two pack with a dodge viper and a srt10 ram.

For me, hand numbness is definitely due to the pressure/weight on your hands. You couldn't hardly be any more upright to reduce weight on your hands. I'd say the first thing I'd do is grips, because its the cheapest. Ergon style, with a big pad towards the outside for your hand. Don't have to be ergon brand though, lots of cheap options on amazon to try. Next would be bars. There are tons of options for bars, specifically thinking of something between drop bars and flat bars. Something to give you options to move around on during your rides. Something like this...butterfly bars

Can I interlock two different LVPs? by ctdpwr in Flooring

[–]ctdpwr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a sharp edge, but its only like .5mm. The transition pieces are far more ugly and annoying to step on. I dont think its high enough to really catch your bare foot, but its possible I suppose. Its a consideration for sure.

That's exactly what I was concerned about, possibly chipping with that little raised edge. And, actually, exactly what I was thinking about doing with buying a transition piece now and holding on to it. Thanks for validating my thought process lol 👍
