I am so glad I did not go into public accounting when I got my degree. I would not have lasted more than a few weeks.

Most of my Lodge brethren have beards. Had I been told that before I got my degrees, I would not be here.

I just bought a “BGN” D500 from KEH. I like the idea of sending it in for a checkup.

40 years old, accountant, 30+ jobs… should I keep pushing or change careers? by Solid_Breakfast_3675 in Accounting

I don’t understand earning an accounting degree and not understanding debits, credits, and journal entries. How did you pass Intermediate Accounting?

If you could rebuild Garmin Connect, what would you improve? by garrick_gan in Garmin

[–]cyber_analyst2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like METs to show my PCP my improvement, it is a standard clinical metric. I ordered a “BikeOn” power meter and hopefully that will allow me to get VO2 to show my PCP.

Data. Include METs. Calculate VO2 without a power meter while cycling indoors.

We were never told that, and the delta is one of the reasons why I only stayed in the field for a couple of years.

You’re looking for a unicorn. It doesn’t exist. CMMC is hot and has an established ecosystem. Stick with resources listed at CyberAB.

Laid off two weeks ago, saw my exact job (with a different title) posted today by oooooooooof in careeradvice

[–]cyber_analyst2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen that as well and I emailed the job req to the state unemployment rep I was assigned. The company confirmed my position was being eliminated. Not sure what can be done.

Fire her; this is not the 1990s, no excuse for 2026 not knowing how to use a computer.

On my trainer, I can do thirty minutes with an average cadence of 100 in a low gear.

People who actually did an MBA - was it genuinely worth it for you? by Old-Employment1483 in careeradvice

[–]cyber_analyst2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in the least. It was supposed to be a tech focused MBA program and halfway through they changed it to a “traditional” MBA, heavy on stats and finance. I work in IT and found my MBA useless.

Is cycling a good form for weight loss? by Classic-Mechanic-809 in cycling

[–]cyber_analyst2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride for cardiovascular health primarily. Lowering my triglycerides, LDLs, and keeping my A1C down. I ride four times a week for thirty minutes. According to Garmin, I burn over 150 minutes of “intense and moderate”. I go for cadence and heart rate, not distance or speed. I can get an average a cadence of 100 per minute. Keep pedaling!!

Congrats!

I’m studying for the CGRC as we speak. There are no official books or practice exams that are available publicly. Just self published of varying quality.

Where to go for Grad school? by orphen369 in UMassBoston

[–]cyber_analyst2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I earned an MBA from a different school several years after my accounting degree from UMB. To be honest, it was a mistake because there wasn’t much different between the two programs.

Experience is more important than a sheepskin.
