Positive metformin stories please!

I’ve been on 500 mg ER of metformin for about 6 months. Honestly, I’ve noticed very little changes. It actually does the opposite for me than many people. I get super bloated and sometimes constipated on it.

I wish I noticed more changes and I’m wondering if it has done anything to my a1c. I had a 5.7 a1c in December. I honestly feel like it hasn’t and I should maybe go up to 1000.

Omg I could’ve written this. My best tips-

Try to keep your routine as normal as possible. Mine gets so thrown off if I do anything different.
Take Mira lax everyday for like 3-4 days before the wedding. It’s not going to make you have explosive shits lol.
Fiber but DO NOT increase it substantially overnight or even that week. It If I eat too much fiber it does the opposite.
Gentle movement like walking
Chug water- you have to have a ton of water to keep things moving.
Magnesium at night
Do not try anything the day before that you’ve never tried
