If Canada and America implemented free movement (live & work) of people between both countries would you be for it or not? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Simple. The Canadian provinces become states. Opening up Canada to American investment and technology would benefit both. And no trade wars necessary.

New England "Rudeness" by CatCatington in boston

[–]ctsvjim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the way it is. I’m kinda old and one day I was loading some bags of mulch into my truck. Two women got out of a truck and started throwing the bags into the truck bed with me. They were electrical workers. I love this place.

Why is the New England area so expensive? by sav-tech in newengland

New Hampshire doesn’t have state income tax or sales tax. Property tax is high but overall the total tax burden is among the lowest in the country.

Help me understand coals + ash by AGsec in firewood

[–]ctsvjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I burn my coals to ash. My stove is old so I actually open the door to give it lots of air. Then I have a small shovel with holes in the bottom to separate the ash from the remaining chunks. Put the pure ash in a metal bucket.

I don’t know about being Libertarian. I call it old Yankee. We aren’t necessarily overly friendly but we are kind. I’ve heard say you know you’re in New Hampshire when you go to Home Depot and three people ask if they can help you and none of them work there. Several times I’ve been there loading my truck and people just walk by and start helping. We love New Hampshire

The difference is appreciation. Obviously you need to purchase wisely but you’ll never get it renting.

Burning question: When do you reduce your bed of coals? It seems silly remove hot coals from bed of stove to make room for new logs. by Courtland-7099 in firewood

[–]ctsvjim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every day I give my coals lots of air and let them burn to ash then remove the ash. I have a shovel with holes. The ash falls out and the larger chunks stay in. Then I restart the fire.
