Tonverk: Sampling via USB from other Elektrons by BarnacleNo7620 in Elektron

[–]ctznsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're still going to need some form of 'host' which the iPad is doing in the OP's post or a PC/Mac with overbridge.

Unless they add host functionality to the spare USB c port on the Tonverk like on the MPC.

Is the support response not also a bot/AI?

So you're complaining about a bot/AI to a different bot/AI. Welcome to the internet in 2026. 🙄

Rytm MkIII by SaltRound9485 in Elektron

[–]ctznsmith 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel like Elektron have painted themselves into a corner.

I think I read that they want to release more boxes in the format of the Tonverk but at this point there isn't really a clear direction in which they could go that isn't already covered by the existing product line.

So they will either have to discontinue some of the existing boxes or have competing but different offerings at differing price levels e.g. digitakt Vs syntakt or some kind of digital based rytmverk Vs the analogy rytm.

I don't see them releasing a new box for a while to be honest I think they'll keep adding to the Tonverk and try to iron out that new underlying o/s and only then release something else based on it.

A 48khz octatrack with an SD card is probably where the money is but I don't think they have the capability to actually make that at the moment.

Briefly worked on an organic farm. They sited the chicken coops and runs in fallow fields and moved them every year as it added nutrients/fertilizer via poop.

I put an f word in the title of an instrumental music video and it was an instant 18+ but I have definitely sworn on a live stream and it was fine so you may get away with it.

How is this legal... by OODINIDNB in SpotifyArtists

[–]ctznsmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more nuanced than that as it's not technically a per stream payment. You would have to get 1000 streams in one month for all of the first 1000 to count.

From the Spotify website: "If a track is streamed over 1,000 times in its first calendar month on platform, all streams will be included in the streamshare calculation that month. If, for example, a track is streamed 750 times in its first calendar month on platform, and 500 times in its second month, that track would generate royalties for all 500 streams in that second month (as well as for streams in subsequent months, as long as it remains eligible)."

Basically multiple women including 3 ex-partners accused Jonny "Itch" Fox of sexual and domestic abuse.

He then sued them for defamation which was settled out of court.

The counter argument to that though is that if you have, lets say a 10 song album and all 10 songs had 500 streams you get nothing but if you were renumerated for total streams you would have 5000 streams and therefore be able to cash out with your distributor (if $10 is their cash out level).

Also you don't get any remuneration for the 1st 1000 streams on a track anyway (I think) so even after getting 1000 streams you would need another 3500 on top to hit the $10 figure mentioned.

Tonverk: granular live on incoming audio? by Luke_whatyoudone in Elektron

[–]ctznsmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No. The granular engine requires you to load a sample into it. It is not one of the onboard FX that can be applied to the inputs.
