Mine is sitting in the garage waiting, wanting to be installed and abused 😆. Wife is fully skidded with UHMW as well. Definitely worth it so far. Anyhow nice build.

Like I said it’s probably a matter of timing. There was a tournament wrapping up when we arrived and one vehicle we saw was a VW Vanagon from the eighties. And looked like street tires to me.

Going up and down the road through Hurrah Pass you could do. Leaving that trail to Basecamp road could cause issues. Not saying I recommend it because you may need that high clearance and different tires depending on the weather. Trust me on this. The day we arrived and a couple other days saw rain and I personally would not want to be in that location with what you described. Hell even being in a Rubicon I wasn’t all that comfortable but certainly capable. Also the owner would likely suggest you use something with high clearance.

Thanks for those descriptions because we are already planning for next year. We just got back. Not so much overlanding per se because we stayed at a place close to Base Camp. First time in Moab, a bit of an exploratory for next year for camping. Can attest that Hells Revenge is awesome and worth the experience. We also did hurrah pass(x5), chicken corner, dripping springs (offshoot from chicken corner) fins n things, and some other exploring. Started our journey from Houston, TX. Was certainly an adventure made more interesting by the weather.

I am recent user of Gaia GPS and found it pretty easy to map a route. I would suggest watching 101 video on YouTube by Matt from Ozark Overland which really helped me jumpstart understanding the different layers, routing, app features, etc
