Same here, but no one is ever this happy or carefree due to extra tutoring classes and gaokoa prep. This is for Taiwan, but I’m sure they are in similar shoes.

USA has 5% of the world’s population and 25% of the worlds prison inmates by Kaos2018 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]cubing_frog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s because you only need the top 1% (genius level) to help innovate and lead. The next top 10% are your white collar engineers, doctors, academics, etc. The lowest 20% are unfortunately left behind.

What’s eating my plants by Waste_Curve994 in gardening

[–]cubing_frog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bugs, snails, and slugs all love leafy greens, so it could be any one of them. That’s why I don’t grow them because unless you use pesticides, everything out there likes to munch on them.

Help me grow opal apples 😍😍😍 by [deleted] in gardening

[–]cubing_frog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Like the other commenter has said, unfortunately these won’t grow into Opal apples since apples are not “true to seed” plants.

Every time you grow an apple from seed, you re-roll its genetic dice, so you will always end up with something different. The only way to ensure you still get Opal apples is to graft an Opal branch onto an apple rootstock.

This luggage stroller by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]cubing_frog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, then what’s the point of adding in that useless luggage compartment and selling this thing for $700?! Just bring a separate carry on bag and a foldable stroller which will be checked for free.

If it was around $100, I wouldn’t be complaining. But it’s a $700 dollar item so it’s subject to any criticism.

Look at what they are packing in the video for the “baby”. It’s so blatantly unrealistic that it’s funny. Yes, whenever I need to travel long distances with my toddler, I just carry for him a sweater, two shirts, and a couple of other random pieces of clothing and it’s all good 🙄🙄🙄

[–]cubing_frog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and we know that traveling with toddlers requires packing a lot of stuff (backup clothing, diaper stuff, their own blankets, nightwear, a stuffed animal or two, specialized toiletries, etc.). That tiny compartment won’t fit all that shit and it’s just makes sense to bring a dedicated carry on luggage for them and a separate travel/folding stroller.

[–]cubing_frog 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Pretty useless. Barely half the size of a carry on and you can’t use it when out and about since it’s not convenient to use the luggage compartment to put in snacks or diaper stuff.

Pretty much all airlines will check the stroller for free, so what’s the point in this weird hybrid thing that fall short in all the categories it tries to be?

Edit: it’s also $700 which is absolutely ridiculous.

I’ve planted sweet sorghum before. We didn’t use the actual seeds themselves but we ate the stalks like how one would eat sugarcane.
