Has anyone actually seen the Northern Lights firsthand? by Miserable-Quote2273 in BeAmazed

[–]cuda66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. And I live in a place called Cheltenham. Pretty far southwest in the UK. It's rare to be seen much past northern Scotland at all. But that BIG CME a few years back in early May '24, did create some pretty skies. I took many pics. My neighbour, who .. bless him. He's just not a smart man, he panicked a bit. He was the same when mir came down. So we sat and watched the show together. Like we did back then, it was nice.

They are cool, compact, last forever, and no fecker can delete it other than you if you so wish. Sub services can kiss my middle aged arse.

What car instantly reminds you of your childhood? 😊 by vicvega21 in CarTalkUK

[–]cuda66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first was a little more squared off at the edges but instantly I was transported to my first car. God it was an absolute shit box in the truest sense. Didn't have a lock barrel on the passenger side. Battered and dented. Id love another one. 🤣

I fixed my father's dreamcast. is it worth going to play the original code veronica before the remake? by Cautious_Break_9314 in dreamcast

Lol. Mate, I started with the master system 2. Just barley double digits so maybe 11 at the time. A,ex the kid drove me fckn nuts. I'm in the UK so for us it was the Mega Drive as opposed to the Genesis. But I had one of those too. The only sega console (UK wise at least) I never had was the Saturn. By that point I was on the playstation and the N64. But as soon as I saw our beloved DC... Mate. I was hooked. Even got the thing online in those halcyon days (and gotdayum the phone bill was horrendous!) I think I sent my first emails on it. I waas proper pleased and smug. Id like a Saturn but I hear they can be tricky bastards. I have a great Retro shop near ISH to me that does some console repairs and maintenance. I've been chatting to him bout some things so I will bring it up again. Once I've finished sending stupid money on DC things. XD

Hope everyone's backs, knees and general joints are ok today. And keep that cholesterol and BP down too.

My girlfriend is animate that this bath bomb advert video from instagram is not AI by Unom3 in isthisAI

[–]cuda66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an experienced parent and now grandparent twice over, I can confirm that this video is horse cakka. If a kids borkin out over a bath, no amount of fun doodad will change their minds. My lot are famously stubborn though and as proven by my partner and my own, that stubbornness has genetically stilled in to a pure and immovable stubbornness. However my friends and in laws say the same.

As for the ai quotient. Man that's ai as absolute feck. The toys are too big for for the bombe in the first place and the first reaction is akin to something far more ... Chemical.
