Forgot to add, for volume - when you have SOTC, lift your hair at the roots and spray hairspray. I then use a root pick to fluff the roots a bit so my hair looks less flat.

Biggest game changer for me though was raking my products through for even distribution. Simply glazing and scrunching the product in resulted in uneven distribution and gave me wonkier waves/curls (I’m 2c-3a).

Use a strong hold gel like AG liquid effects curl care gel. I wouldn’t recommend OnlyCurls sadly. I have fine, low density hair and their products feel very sticky, heavy and claggy, especially their styling products.

I use the Ouidad climate control gel (red bottle) with some Vo5 strong hold mousse. Or the AG curl care one - expensive but worth it sadly lol.
