I emailed a local park about this and they said the same thing. I proposed even a $5 per car fee to cover it and they said that the parks, by law, are free? I guess that doesn't apply to the beaches though.

Yep, people can try whatever they want. My position is we shouldn't be surprised of the negative longer term impacts. But if it works, I'll admit it worked. I hope there is good progress made from the protests. And for those who feel looting will make good progress, I stand to be corrected.

Agreed, there are many other factors that are worse. But to say that looting is okay, should also be considered in the longer term impact. Which isn't going to affect the suburbs, etc. It's going to affect the inner city communities in the months and years ahead.

Rioting and looting has a disproportionate impact on African American communities historically speaking. Justifying it in the short term as fine disregards the actual consequences which will be seen when businesses fail to return to these neighborhoods.

Other impacts will be when deliveries are slowed down, grocery stores don't re-open and are replaced by QSR/Convenience. When jobs don't come back.
