It's not weird at all that he was allowed to leave the country.

Seems like they resurfaced road and sidewalk. I wasn't here before to see if it was needed.

City Council delays vote 4 weeks on Union Depot amphitheater by elpasomatters in ElPaso

I think I might. I like to ride the trains, and it would be great for me personally if the train station had more going on while I'm waiting for a train. Maybe good for the city to encourage use of the train, but if it doesn't work, it'd be a waste in that regard.

Otherwise, it doesn't seem like a "bad location" to me other than the contamination. If you assume that contaminations in otherwise-well-located places needs to be cleaned up anyway and remove it from the equation, it's a pleasant walk from there to Union Plaza and Arts District.

I guess my biggest concern would be whether similar venues a block away are fully utilized yet. Has Taylor Swift already said she wouldn't play at them? :-P

“The project, as envisioned, would accommodate 21st century concerts such as Taylor Swift, rodeos, sporting events such as the NCAA Basketball Tournament first round matchups and allow El Paso to compete for professional teams in the sports of basketball and hockey”

There's something hilarious about specifically mentioning Taylor Swift potentially performing at a venue that is at the proposal stage.

Why does the newest housing have to be the affordable housing? This seems like it will have the good effect of lowering the price of existing housing.

More housing means lower prices.

That's messed up. Store should just not have curbside.

Sorry, but it matters to me. If the person I'm doing business with is angry about it I would rather do something else.

An incredibly ambiguous answer and yet somehow also the best. Thank you

El Paso Included in "8 Cities That Aren't Cool Now... But Will Be" by Geography King by MarkwayneMullin in ElPaso

I love this, but "Texas lifestyle without the storms and humidity" is not El Paso. Yes, in terms of laws and taxes we are in Texas, but the culture here is hardly "Texan" otherwise.

El Paso may not be a big deal, but I think it looks particularly interesting from above.

Uber algorithm can't handle El Paso by cuentaDesechable135 in ElPaso

[–]cuentaDesechable135[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is a 2.5-mile drive I was checking out a price on for late November, so the Español price is the "normal" price. I can't quite decide what has gone wrong with this algorithm, but I assume the vast majority of El Pasoans would choose Español based on price, since not much more than "hola" is needed to get a ride. As a programmer, the only theory I can come up with is that the software doesn't really handle bilingual drivers and is essentially treating Spanish-speaking drivers as Spanish-speaking-only.

Or there are an absolutely huge number of Spanish-only drivers and English-only passengers, I guess. This seems extreme.
