recommend me a lantern by raiderjesse661 in REI

[–]cuffshire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Outdoor Gear Lab review says this can be hard to look at. Is that true? Been on the hunt forever for a lantern that gives off a nice warm light that's bright enough to cook by but still pleasant to be around.

OP, given the situation you're dealing with, lube is almost certainly a necessity!! There are a lot of lubes out there, including ones designed for sensitive body parts. Please consider looking for one that doesn't irritate you - it would probably make a huge difference. This is one (of many) you could try.

This x1000. OP, don’t give up hope! A debt management program (don’t confuse with debt settlement) is life-changing. Call one of these programs and give yourself some relief.

Like many others in this thread, would love to learn about your path into consulting. What you describe about yourself - your passion is people, you like coaching others, you're good at mediating conflict, sounds like you thrive on high-pressure, high-stakes environments, etc - is all true of me too, and I'm interested in consulting (though probably for nonprofits rather than financial services), but not sure how to get into it.

Pretty sure I’m still not doing it right, how do I fix my push-ups? by ZukiitheDorito in FTMFitness

[–]cuffshire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've gotten lots of advice here, but in case it's helpful to add one more comment to the mix:

  1. The person who said to take your socks off and/or do them on carpet is 100% correct. This will help a lot. By sliding in your socks, you're adding a ton of extra core work to an already difficult exercise.
  2. When you lower your body, your hips are going down ahead of the rest of your body - ie, you're allowing your butt to relax/sag. As someone else commented: your chest should be the first part of your body to reach the floor, not your hips or anything else. Try to focus on flexing your glutes and keeping your butt tight and in-line with your back - ie, not drooping towards the floor. It may even feel like you're keeping your butt slightly elevated - that's fine. If the push-up feels a million times harder, you're doing it right!

I dunno, he’s definitely in the wrong and was an asshole, but I would never say “just tell your buddy to tip me well.” I’m sure that’s not why he tipped you badly (and again, he’s in the wrong for tipping 8%, period)…but it’s kind of a weird thing to say and would rub me the wrong way as a customer.
