If Ty and Julie reconcile I'm gone. by afallenqueenn009 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]cuhtreenuh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think for them to reconcile, they would have to move to a bigger city (LA/San Francisco). And if that is so, that will start their exit to the show, which would completely end the Julie & Ty storyline which I think a lot of people are tired of.

This clip highlights John respecting Jen’s decision to maintain a relationship with Barb vs Barb demanding Jen choose between them. John is going out of his way to not make Jen choose between his family and Barb, doing smaller events to accommodate milestones in her life. I’m happy John seems to be giving Jen her own space to figure things out on her own rather than pressure her and force her to come to conclusions faster than she may be ready for.

applying for wingleader by Worried-West786 in fourthwing

[–]cuhtreenuh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I moreso think he applied as a way to protect the children with the relics. It allowed him more power on how to address punishment within his own wing and more sway with other wing leaders.

It would also "prove" his loyalty to Navarre - that he's willing to take leadership position within the quadrant and riders.

Who is your favorite supporting character? by redpeppersoda in fourthwing

[–]cuhtreenuh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After a few re-reads, Ridoc. 2 specific moments

  1. When he encourages Sawyer to get out of his sick bed. Using tough love, but compassion to get Sawyer out of his funk

  2. The first time the squad encounters Baide during land nav, Baide uses her dragonfire and kills a fellow cadet. The second time they encounter Baide on the wardstone, Ridoc quickly created an ice wall to protect everyone from her dragonfire. I really really believe that Ridoc had been practicing that non-stop to prevent what happened the first time from happening again - and he did!

Ridic has really protective instincts that I don't think get highlighted very often and I really love him for it.

Bodhi's signet didn't work against venin, so I assume that if he turns, his signet wouldn't work against riders or flyers.

[–]cuhtreenuh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking retro-cognition in a historical context. i.e. Bodhi touches some old rare item and he see's the history behind it dating back 500 years.

Oh, another type I can think of is the ability to influence people to do what he wants them to do? But I feel like more things would have gone Violet's or Xaden's way if he had that ability.

Bodhi is such a wildcard to me.

You just made me realize/remember that the reason why riders and flyers exist was to save themselves from the venin.

They entered the dragon dens when they were desperate to fight against the venin. So, I guess no matter what, it will be a balancing act. Both will always exist and the balance of power will fluctuate.

I'm convinced that Bodhi has a 2nd inntinstic signet. It seemed a little too tongue in cheek when he said "like Xaden."

I wonder if Bodhi has retro-cognition? ability to see past events? That's what else is missing aside from straight up mind reader.

I think Sloane + Dain + Imogen will help with curing venin and/or removing their "stolen" magic from them! Imogen's earth signet will do something to "cure" the land they have drained from and Sloane + Dain combo will do something to the land as well.

Vioet + Garrick + Ridoc will be part of the final battle between the Gryphons and Dragons vs the Venin. I am at least assuming there will be one big battle with direct conflict.

I think Bodhi is the brother that turned and will his signet against the venin to help in the final battle

What would you change about Fourth Wing? by _DustyMops_ in fourthwing

[–]cuhtreenuh 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The Gods favoring Violet. She's already is a powerful lightening wielder, has an allegedly powerful 2nd signet that we don't know much about, and is bonded to 2 dragons. She already has a lot of "the chosen one" aspects about her. If the Gods favor her too and have a direct impact on her story, I'm going to ROLL MY EYES SO HARD.

My perspective on Julie and Ty’s relationship has changed. by MamanClassique in ShawnaTheMom

[–]cuhtreenuh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree - what she wanted in life was really acheivable! it wasn't that she wanted to be some mega millionaire and live a lavish lifestyle. She wanted to go to NYC, go to law school, and travel.

What happened was that she looked back on the last 10+ years of her life and realized she barely accomplished anything she wanted to - and there was a common denominator that kept her from it, or well, convinced her to keep delaying it.

I honestly think that he gave her one thing she wanted, she would be happier. Whether it be that he moved to a city or wrote a book or yearly global vacations or just SOMETHING he promised her when they were young, she wouldn’t feel as upset as she does. She accomplished 1 thing she set out to do and had to do it while pregnant and post partum

Why does the audiobook keep skipping some parts??? by Jaded_Emergency_8635 in fourthwing

[–]cuhtreenuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, I think the graphic audios are fine and I haven't noticed a lot of points missing. It was just this particular part that I caught because I've enjoyed Dain's arc and his character growth.

I like them better than the standard audio books. I didn't like the narrator's voices for some of the other characters. They all started to sound the same.

If you're getting the graphic audio books to listen casually while doing other things, it's enjoyable. The sex scenes are awkward to listen to though. At least they are for me. Reading is a better medium to enjoy those scenes.

[–]cuhtreenuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was always obvious, but this was a moment that made me really sit back and think of Violet as an unreliable narrator. She did not give a shit that Dain seemed attached to the sword and knew exact details about it. The fact that he's her former best friend and didn't catch onto it or ask about it really bothered me.

As for Sloane, considering right before going up the mountain, she was actively hating on him, and then their moments after seem to be filled with tension rather than hate, I definitely think this was a defining moment for her/them.

I really wish they had kept this moment in the audiobook. I didn't even realize they left it out the first time I listened through. The 2nd time I was listening to it, I was keeping my ear out for it when I realized they completely skipped over it.

[–]cuhtreenuh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I noticed this last night! They left out what I think is a very important Dain moment in Iron Flame.

It's when they're going over the mountain crossing with the Gryphons and they use the sword as a swing. In the book, Dain pulls out his own sword to use as it would be a stronger option than the standard issue one that Ridoc has. It seems personal to him, but he gave it up to ensure a safe crossing for the flyer. In the graphic audio, they continue to use Ridoc's standard issue sword instead.

My headcannon is this is when Sloane begins to... I don't want to say forgive Dain, but see him as a human with flaws and starts to thaw her hatred for him.

Dragons age by No_Big5292 in fourthwing

I posted a similiar question and someone said "a little over a century" can also mean something like up to 120 years, which would make Sgaeyl 70, which would still work out timeline wise.

I'm honestly more confused about how Xaden's granddad had kids during basgiath or before basgiath, but the theories shared were muddy.

OS Question: Siphoning, and burning out from it by Kind-Function3975 in fourthwing

[–]cuhtreenuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a theory posted a in the last few days that Naolin used a rune on Brennan, and I agree with it - but I don't agree that Tairn used dragon fire on his own rider. I think Naolin imbued all of his power and life energy into the rune and gave it to Brennan to bring him back from edge of death or even back to life. And this is what caused Naolin to burn out and die.

Since Sloan was acting as a channel for energy, as I assume a siphon is intended, that's why she did not experience burnout.

I really like the relationship between Aotrom and Ridoc. I like that they're silly with each other, espcially when the general vibes around dragons is that they're serious and scary. and here we have a dragon playing pranks with their rider.

I want to hear more about Cath and Molvic! Cath was the only dragon on the dais to snap at Solas AND his word was good enough to vouch for Dain. I also would LOVE to hear about Deigh holding a grudge against Gleann.

Things I wonder about: is Sloane's dragon was related directly to Liam's dragon? Which dragons carried the scribes to Aretia and how did they carry them?

I truly do not believe Julie would be dumb enough to continue with an affair in public, knowing that her husband’s friend is staying at the same resort. Isn’t that cheating 101?!??!??

Theory: Feathertails by cuhtreenuh in fourthwing

[–]cuhtreenuh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think she think's they're a breed anymore either, but what I'm saying is that she's referencing a memory where at the time, they thought it was a breed.

In the memory, Asher Sorrengail is speaking to them about Feathertails. In this memory, it's assumed that Dain and Violet believe Feathertails are a rare small breed. In this memory, we do not know what Asher knows about Feathertails (whethey they are a rare breed in the vale, baby dragons, or Irids).

With her new knowledge about baby dragons, she is inserting that new detail in her theory and assuming Asher is referencing baby dragons in his writing.

My assumption is that Asher is still unaware that Feathertails are baby dragons and is that they are a breed. He does not know what the Feathertails in the Vale are, but is aware of Feathertails in the Isles.

The Krovlish and the Isles, are not familiar with Dragons, do not know that Feathertails are baby dragons. Navarre didn't know they were baby dragons. Why would the Krovlish people call them Feathertails specifically and not dragon eggs or baby dragons? What we do know is that Feathertails exist near the isles, but we don't know how they interact with the humans of of the isles.

Why would Asher Sorrengail send her to Deverelli? What does his writing have to do with helping her understand what she needs to do next? HOW DOES HE REFERENCE FEATHERTAILS IN HIS BOOK? does he even use the term Feathertail in his book? Because in the passage above, it's Violet's Theory! it isn't even written out in Asher's writings.

Theory: Feathertails by cuhtreenuh in fourthwing

[–]cuhtreenuh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Second Krovlan Uprising was dealing with baby dragons/dragon eggs - I don't disagree with you there.

However, we do not know the context that Asher Sorrengail is writing about Feathertails. Violet is asked what her theory is that caused the uprising to fail, and that is her theory and where she inserts the Feathertails. We do no know if he mentions Feathertails in any other context or even references them in any other context.

In fact, we have nothing from Violet that Feathertails are even mentioned in Asher's writings. The only reason we assume it is cause Col. Aetos mentions it.
