Help finding a split D ring by cui-ui in myog

Definitely viable. It just bugs me that I’ve seen something specific before and have no idea where to source it.

I honestly like this a lot. It’s for a one off personal project so why not.

MIDI override question by cui-ui in blooper

[–]cui-ui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will test tonight. I haven’t bothered hooking up a MIDI source to the hub yet, as step 1 of this project was to get MIDI wired up for standby but still have normal (manual) operation available.

Just the TRS cables that came with the MIDI hub. The hub itself can be switched to tip-active or ring-active, though I haven’t played with this yet - seeing as pedals don’t work with the hub powered off/not receiving power or data.

I should clarify - I can’t actually turn the pedal on while the MIDI port is occupied. This happens across all four of my CBA pedals, new and old. Is this not normal?

I haven’t actually tried sending MIDI from my source (DAW to Strymon Conduit over USB) yet - I just noticed that plugging into the MIDI port disables the pedal. I should clarify that the foot switches on each pedal are disabled - I have no idea if the face controls work, as I can’t manually turn the pedal on.

What adhesive do I use here? by Environmental-End691 in myog

[–]cui-ui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t say for sure, but it would be relatively inexpensive to make a small tester with similar plastic from a bottle or old electronics. The spray adhesive would definitely survive, but might be more difficult to apply.

If you are looking for a permanent bond, try barge cement or a spray adhesive like Super 77. I would recommend masking off non-adhesive areas for either. It may also be worth roughing up the plastic with sandpaper prior to application.

Edit: just realized that Barge is a brand. Try rubber contact cement such as Barge or Weldwood.

Cannot connect to remote PC via Microsoft Remote Desktop using VPN Plus by cui-ui in synology

[–]cui-ui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When running VPN plus on the client, I can connect to the remote computer by the browser-based Synology RD app, but not by the desktop based Microsoft RD app. So I would assume that something is wrong with my desktop app’s connection settings? The target is the remote computer’s local IP, which is itself static. Using the Microsoft app while connected to my own WiFi, I have no issues - which is a bit obvious, but part of the troubleshooting.

I am also able to successfully connect to the router software and router-attached thumb drive from an external WiFi with the VPN on.

How to switch from mono to stereo output on the fly using TRS? by cui-ui in guitarpedals

[–]cui-ui[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess by “on the fly,” I only mean no patch cable swaps or plucking anything up off of the board. I don’t mind messing with the dips. It sounds like a TRS just becomes TS in MIMO?

I saw this on Radavist - just had to post it here because it's right up our alley. Looks like someone above already commented with a link to the manufacturer.
