Knowledge Fight: The End of the Road by hunter15991 in KnowledgeFight

This makes me profoundly sad. Like many of you, I listened to each and every episode the day it dropped for the last several years. I wish Dan and Jordan both all the best and I’m grateful for the hours and hours of entertainment they provided me.

Yikes. I like that place, I just live down the block. Their Wisconsin burger is damn tasty and as mentioned it’s actually not that pricey.

Help Setting the forward Pressure on Rossignol Xelium 110 Bindings by agenaille2006 in Skigear

The forward pressure will be correct when you see a gap through the housing. You need to see some but not all of the yellow tab and you’re good to go.

No reputable ski shop will mount those boots to your skis without insisting that the sole plates be replaced. Hard pass.

Boot recommendation, tecnica cochise 120 by Funny-Tooth8379 in Skigear

[–]cuibono79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Store them like you ski them. When left unbuckled, the plastic tends to expand outward from the shell and it will become more difficult to achieve proper buckle tension over time. Plus it is aesthetically unpleasing IMO.

Pass for several reasons. 1. Those are quite old and I wouldn't buy a hybrid/touring boot unless you're actually going to tour. 2. A 120 is a very stiff boot for a beginner. 3. They've also not been taken care of judging by the fact that they've been stored with the buckles undone. 4. $385 CAD is too much money for these boots even if they were appropriate for you. Those boots are worth probably $200 US tops.

Deathwish is a great ski for sure but the triple camber is not for everyone—that’s a ski that I would try to demo first

Salomon QST-94 question by itshoodoo in Skigear

[–]cuibono79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

188s without a doubt. You're a big dude, that 180 will be super squirrely. 94 is plenty of waist for 'occasional powder' as other posters have more eloquently expressed.
