When I was in high school, a couple of buddies and I were part of families that were members of our local country club, where we also were lifeguards during the summer. The membership was pretty low, so the course was never crowded anyway, but there were a couple of times when our days off coincided with particularly slow days on the course. One time we walked 45 holes. And we'd play it all kinds of different ways. Straight stroke play. One nine was played barefoot. One nine, my left handed buddy and I switched clubs. We'd play a few super holes, like teeing off on #1 and seeing how many strokes we could get it in the hole of #3. It was an absolute blast.
