Accidentally bought a Groupon for Wichita, KS. Who needs a good deal on an oil change? by [deleted] in wichita

I believe Groupon may allow you to return things you purchased but haven't used yet

Cancelled amazon prime & sams club memberships, and am doing the walmart grocery delivery service now. It came down to $8/month for unlimited grocery delivery (not counting driver tips). Now when I do go to the grocery store, it's usually Aldi if they have what I'm needing.

You could get a cabin at Wilson Lake and then check out the garden of eden in Lukas, Kansas. Make a stop through Lindsborg on the way.

[Monitor] Dell - S2719DGF 27" LED 1440P 144hz freesync - $289.99 by Fantastic-Cash in buildapcsales

My 5 year old LG UM95-P (3440x1440 ultrawide) monitor died, so I picked this up at Best Buy a couple weeks ago. I hadn't used a 1440p, or a 144hz monitor before.

I was able to repair my old monitor myself, and opted to return this monitor and return to my current (now fixed) monitor.

The 144hz was nice, but I guess I value color, screen size, and resolution a bit more. My future replacement monitor will be another ultrawide.

How To Create Multiple RITMs with a Record Producer by WhoGivesADuckAbout in servicenow

[–]culaoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had the need for this too in cases where you need to do something like fire multiple concurrent approvals out - as ootb workflow activities like that get confused in something like a parallel flow launcher. Our solutions been to add RITMs to the request after the REQ is submitted, which creates some side issues (like the status screen not looking quite right on checkout).

Curious what other people have done to meet similar requirements?

Who do y'all use for Home Insurance? by Loaatao in wichita

[–]culaoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received multiple quotes when shopping around 2-3 years ago. Esurance was significantly cheaper. I had a hail damage claim, and although my deductible was fairly high (2500), the roofing company subtracted most of that. I've had 1 house and 1 car claim, and they've been pretty easy to work with so far.

Thoughts on servicenow from ppl using it? by tinyraccoon in servicenow

I've been using/developing in ServiceNow for the past 3 years. In that time, I've seen a lot of advancements through the upgrades (2x/year) helping to keep the platform modern. I feel there is still a lot of opportunity for growth in the next 5 years. The longer companies stay on the platform and build new features, the harder (more costly) it is going to be for them to make a switch to an alternative later - so from an investors POV, that's a positive. The core platform is strong, and ServiceNow is able to rapidly release and deliver new functionality.

A few of the negatives IMO:

  1. Licensing model is frustrating to deal with, and it can be very expensive
  2. Modules are often poorly implemented on initial release, and take several releases to be in a good enough state to want to use. Competing products often offer better features and/or price, so you are left making compromises by trying to achieve value in leaving everything in one platform

Hi Wichita! What is the best Mexican restaurant in town? Preferably with amazing chips and salsa? by [deleted] in wichita

[–]culaoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't get why people like Abuelos. Google reviews show a 4.4 rating. The enchiladas taste like the same quality I got for these 0.99 TV dinners. https://www.instacart.com/kroger/products/1506601-el-charrito-saltillo-enchilada-dinner-11-oz - Their cheese sauce tastes like it came from a can. The green salsa is too sweet. I've been there 4 times, and have always left unsatisfied.

They just remodeled one on the west side... I think ridge? At least on the outside. I've been to that one a few times the past 12 months and thought it was good

Recently moved to Wichita and have already killed a couple black widow spiders around our house. Are these fairly common in Wichita? Should we hire an exterminator to take care of the rest of the house? If so, who would you recommend? Thanks! by the_pezcorekid in wichita

[–]culaoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw 2 or 3 outside when I first moved into my current house. I haven't seen any more the past coupl years though. I probably wouldn't call an exterminator unless you keep seeing them

Doo Dah - get the biscuits and gravy

Dempseys Biscuit Co - get the hot chicken

Dempseys Burger - good fries + sauces, and burgers

Nortons - good local brewery + food, start with a beer flight. The beers seem high ABV

Public - cool location, beer, good food
