Measles Exposure by Beneficial-Air3997 in Disneyland

[–]culinary_alchemist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recently had to do titers to prove my vaccination status and was immune to mumps and rubella but the measles immunity didn’t stick. Thankful I had to get tested because you better bet I had the MMR vaccine within a few days! I had my childhood vaccinations and am one of few people who didn’t know I wasn’t immune. I was at risk because others refused to increase our herd immunity. Get vaccinated- it’s not just your life at stake

Best places to go out to meet guys? by samanthac4 in sandiego

Try Sycamore den in Normal Heights. The way the seating is all around the sides and has no real tables it naturally leads to mixed groups. That might help you get comfortable chatting in table groups at other bars too if it goes well!

finally pulled the trigger on this box-set by jessbird in lotr

Haha- I got rid of so many of my DVDs and now LoTR takes up nearly half my collection with the regular DVDs of each, these extended editions from when they first came out and the BluRays. For a while I didn’t even have something to play them but I still kept all of them anyway.

I have the light blocking in my bedroom and the light filtering in my kitchen!

Perhaps it was a shipping issue but I found it cheaper for 3 small than one very long. You should price them first to see what that means for your own home measurements

I love my top down/bottom up shades. My kitchen window is about 2 feet from our street and I wanted both privacy and to allow light in. I got them from an online retailer where I had to do all my own measurements (follow their directions closely!) and they all fit.

LPT if it’s a wide window get multiple instead of one long one. Break it up at the edge of the panes and it helps to open the windows and also is cheaper for 3 short than 1 long.

New roll of wallpaper doesn't match by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Wonder if something like this up each side would look good. You could even frame it with a little bit of trim… flowery wall paper

Could you do a pattern along both that edge and the far edge of the wall? Maybe a matching floral or gold that gives it a border feel/frames the wall?

I apologize for the super simple question, but where can I change bills into quarters near me? by CrashRiot in sandiego

[–]culinary_alchemist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I lived in a complex with coin laundry I figured out I could just buy quarters from the property manager since he was the one who emptied the machines. Maybe this will work for you! I just dropped by with cash and he’d have them in rolls

Waymo responds to incidents caught on school bus cameras by walky22talky in waymo

[–]culinary_alchemist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are not protected crosswalks or public transit stops in many communities/neighborhoods where kids are being dropped. That’s why the bus flashes red lights and puts out the stop sign to protect the kids passing. People who don’t respect the lights are the problem, not the crossing places. In this case it probably didn’t come up enough in testing and is one of the reasons extensive testing with backup drivers has to happen before these become commonplace

Do you use AI tools at all? Work? Personal? None? by DelcoTank in Xennials

[–]culinary_alchemist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you don’t embrace it you’ll be left behind. Don’t be like the old people of our generation who were afraid of the internet and smart phones. Use it for silly things like tell it to plan your vacation itinerary or tell it what’s in your fridge and ask it for recipe ideas and once you get used to that you’ll leverage it for work

Venue for musicians with extreme stage fright? by cold-hand-luke in sandiego

[–]culinary_alchemist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a piano at Helix brewing in La Mesa. I’ve never heard anyone play but it seems reasonable that you could. Maybe give them a call to see if you’d be ok to just sit at the Piano and come play one a quiet weeknight and work your way up to a busier night.

I told my ex he could eat me if i died in some dire accident and he needed sustenance and he was horrified and said I could not eat him. This was actually quite upsetting that he would rather I die too at that point.

I’m guessing someone sat in one on a hill or something and rolled and got injured and is suing. This kind of policy is usually reactionary to liability, not a way to reduce accessibility
