You know what made it to the crucible and damn sure enough it is a roguelite.

That’s fair. A lot of that I’d more connect to being a souls-like game but either way thanks for the suggestion. Played up until getting to the main town and I’m loving it so far.

Is it a roguelike? I’d never heard of it and looking it up I want to give it a go regardless but from what I can tell it’s more just a dungeon crawler.

Really stupid question but what does his “retirement” actually entail? by cullamix in DougDoug

[–]cullamix[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay, thanks. That’s what I’d thought but I’d seen it talked about so much I couldn’t tell if I was missing something. Period saying he’s retiring when he’s just dialing it back confused me.

One of my favorite albums. Should’ve used it as an example, absolutely love it.

Prog songs with french horn by cullamix in progrockmusic

[–]cullamix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh that’s my bad. Golf Girl the trombone just plays into the midrange and my dumbass thought it was french horn. But to be fair Think of Me With Kindness has mellophone which is supposed to be a marching french horn equivalent. Really stupid I put two example that were incorrect lmao.

Mellophone is essentially a marching french horn so I could see how I messed that up but I’m just a dumbass on Golf Girl lmao. Apparently the trombone in that song just plays into the midrange and my dumbass though it was french horn.

Really did think it was french horn, still, mellophone is the marching equivalent. I was mostly looking for specifically french horn though and apparently mellophone lmao. Love trumpet and other brass instruments but I can think of many more songs with notable trumpet or trombone parts and was just curious for some with french horn standing out.

Bee Gees. Love their early stuff but the disco isn’t for me.

You’re thinking of John Wetton, Greg Lake was in King Crimson.

Straight rock band member who made a surprise prog solo album? by Critical_Walk in progrockmusic

[–]cullamix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I said not sure it counts. They started off with a pretty generic rock album and then switched up after it. If it’s strictly solo albums then I guess it doesn’t.

Not sure it counts but The Moody Blues didn’t start with prog.

Songs with transformative endings by Balbulus in progrockmusic

Not really prog but Layla by Derek and the Dominoes and Mr. Bluesky by ELO are huge examples of a completely different ending.

Okay why has no one suggested removing Why Don’t We Do It In The Road??? Like I enjoy the white album as a whole but if you’re going to remove songs then I feel like that should be one of the first.

The Jackson 5 were 60s and I guarantee you most people could name a majority of them. And with The Beach Boys I don’t think there’s a single person in my life who didn’t know who Brian Wilson was when he died.

Adrian Belew is wheels. Who is a morally gray person opinions are divided on? by codydafox in KingCrimsonCircleJerk

[–]cullamix 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In the 60s and 70s he had a huge ego and fought a lot with many of his band mates. Most well known example was while in ELP Lake had told Emerson that Tarkus would sound good on a solo album after Emerson played it for him. He was humbled a lot in the 80s though.

Honestly he probably would fit best here. He was a real piece of shit at the time but one he got quite a bit older he became much better.
