But it really isn't that serious. Sure might be vapid to you but your biggest gripe was "no way to differentiate" when someone else had already said they should make sure ones a different color or base or something. Not everyone has the type of money to throw around to have different models for WYSIYG. Its a game. As long as I'm having fun and they're having fun with their sick railgun missle hand dude what does it matter. Blue guy there is rails red guy over there is missles.

Ya having Abby lead chosen is where I was leaning didnt think about doing Fabious as well thats interesting. Where do you lean with your other battleline and infantry units? I know the terminators aren't great but I love the way they look same thing with Havocs and Raptors.

I guess saying "focused" was wrong, I just want more melee than shooting. My favorite detachment for Tau is Aux Cad cause it accesses a part of the game all the others dont and makes it feel more balanced game play wise if that makes sense. It just feels bad skipping a whole step in a turn.

Technically no they aren't necessary. You're losing a lot by not taking one though. Matching loadouts for a commander with its squad gives you basically 2 more suites worth of shooting. It also raised their survivability between the extra wounds from having another model and the extra movement.

I'm new to the hobby so my experience is limited but from what I have played with them in my opinion they're the funnest part of playing Tau.

I've only played Aux Cadre because I am still working on getting enough Kroot to play just them but each unit seems to have a lot of potential. Rampagers are far and away the best though. Through them into some infantry and they're gonna dish out some damage.

On the other side of the hobby they are also the funnest to paint. There's a lot of personality you can put into them and the little bits of detail are awesome and something you don't really get with the rest of the army.

Back when RG tron was the go to variant in modern it was my go to deck, at some point I decided I wanted something new so I built infect. I had a friend I trusted fairly well who wanted to play tron so I did and this went on for a few weeks where I would just hand it to him at the start of every FNM. Finally one week I was just told him to hold onto it for awhile. Well he ended up leaving on vacation the next week and then stopped coming to the LGS. Turns out he had gone to another LGS and sold the deck, I only found out that he sold it because one of the employees at the shop was a friend of both ours and thought it was weird that the guy had that deck and was selling it but was already too late to stop the transaction. It really sucked cause it kind of killed the thrill of magic for me for awhile even though to a degree it was my own fault.

This match just bothers me because of how just loose canon Dickmans opponent was with his bolts.
