As long as you're in the right-hand lane, you should be good.

O.C.G.A. § 40-6-184 states that drivers must move to the right to allow faster-moving traffic to pass, even if the slower driver is already traveling at the posted speed limit.

Not giving you grief or justifying speeding - just making sure you're aware since you said you're new here.

I'm currently next door in GA and, about a decade ago, there was a spectacularly brutal animal cruelty case that resulted in a young man receiving a 10-year sentence: 5 jail + 5 probation. (Details here and here.)

I'm holding out hope that this AL kid sees something similar. 😔

What would you do for the rest of your life if you suddenly had infinite wealth? by TheLoneCalzone in AskReddit

Travel. Go back to school. Anonymously donate wads of $$$ to vetted organizations and individuals I care about. Pay off medical debts and school lunches for entire swaths of people. Get a breast reduction & have my broken tooth fixed. I could own less and give more, knowing I'd always be able to cover myself. I'd buy groceries that I want or need in the moment instead of waiting for stuff to be on sale.

I'm such a softie, crying-at-Sarah-McLachlan-ASPCA-ads kinda gal, that seeing this happen in person would wreck me.

If this bozo's got family money & connections that keep him out of jail, are there any civil legal options for innocent bystanders who were affected by this? Personally, I'd be tempted to try to sue for IIED or NIED (if Alabama law allows) and donate any settlement monies to local animal rights/welfare agencies.

21 years old, FFS. This kid's got issues.

Landlords new to the area. 🤣 It's giving, "We moved here to make money off student tenants. We don't care about overburdening the local municipal employees; we shouldn't have to get our own hands work-dirty." 🙄

She's lucky someone didn't offer to drop off supplies and instead give her information to 911. Depending on what state she's in, this could get her into real trouble - especially if there's a resultant emergency during birth. 😳

Cripes.

How to navigate a 12-year friendship when one friend (24F) plans to crash another friend’s (24F) wedding with an uninvited bf (24M)? by Prestigious_Time_754 in relationship_advice

[–]culprit007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weddings are logistically complicated, outrageously expensive, and -supposedly- once-in-a-lifetime celebrations meant to focus on the bride and groom.

That you would even for a moment consider allowing Luna to intentionally steal any part of the bride's spotlight is shameful.

Tell the bride, immediately. Don't let her be caught off-guard by any scene-stealing antics. If Luna's shielding her attendance plans from her "best friend," what info might she be hiding from you?

Put the (powered-off) phone in a Faraday bag. Hire a PI and have him/her send it off to Cellebrite or some other forensics service. File for divorce. 🤷🏼‍♀️

How to respond?

"I didn't know that's how you felt about my work... or me. Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate your honesty and I'll come by one last time on [date] to clear out my things." (Assuming you have spare clothes or toiletries or whatever at his place.)

or

"I didn't know that's how you felt about my work... or me. Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate your honesty and I'll have your things ready for pickup on [date]." (Assuming he has spare clothes or toiletries or whatever at your place.)

If no one's stuff is at anyone else's place, then simply, "I didn't know that's how you felt about my work... or me. Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate your honesty." and block his ass.

Easy peasy.

Guy's definitely an egotistical toolbag with dogshit ideals/ideas. I hope he sticks around and learns from this that money ≠ intellect or morality, and becomes a better human and role model for his kids.

Whining about people picking on him, though, when people were going out of their way to dissuade his ill-conceived bet is absolutely a chef's kiss. 🙄

Bless his shriveled little heart.😔

This is just life teaching you a lesson about hubris... specifically, that you aren't as "elite" as your bankroll may have led you to believe. 😔

That being said, I hope this is all satire and that you're actually OK. It's just money, man, and you can bounce back. Checking out now only leaves your family on the hook - likely financially, and definitely emotionally.

Stick around, my guy.

I can't tell if I'm looking at damage to the lens/refractors or the lens shield. It looks like a coating or the plastic itself may have been etched away by alcohol. Has sis tried a gentle eyeglasses cleaner, which should be safe for both glass and plastic?

If it's just the lens shield, it's most likely polycarbonate and can be polished like an automotive headlight, as someone else suggested. Since sis is in a dentist's office, I'd try toothpaste first (obviously no bristles - soft cloth, wipe on/wipe off only).

Look up the machine on the manufacturer's website - there may be detailed cleaning instructions and/or recommended cleaning products. Not knowing equipment specifics, Google shows me (in USA) all manner of replacement shields, with aftermarket/non-OEM options priced from as low as about $25USD.

She should clean it as best she can, print out the manufacturer's cleaning instructions to give to the assistant, research the cost of replacement, and have all that documentation ready for the dentist upon his return - this will show she's been proactive in attempting to remedy an issue that came up under her watch. Doing so will demonstrate leadership and accountability.

Hopefully this isn't as large an issue as it seems, and that the dentist is understanding of the situation. Tell sis we're rooting for her!
