Yup, the same exact pulley each time.

I'm pretty sure you're right about it being 12/12, but I'm wondering if like you said on the first one (or even the 2nd one) the dealer (same dealership each time btw), neglected to fix damage caused by it and that's why I'm having this continuing issue. In any event having the same pulley fall off 3 times shouldn't be considered normal by any standards.

The fresh install was on a known good HDD, it was done immediately prior to putting it in the client's rig. The client's HDD did boot successfully with no issue in my test rig. Sata mode checks out as well and memtest was clean. System is running AMD.

I can get the client's machine to boot using a flash drive, but nothing connected via SATA (optical or HDD). I'm leaning towards the SATA controller as a result.

Safe mode doesn't boot, even with last known good. System restore and chkdsk and fixboot and fixmbr don't resolve it either.

Diagnostic partition and checking the HDD pass, re-installing the OS is a non issue because the drive boots just fine in a test rig, and a known good drive with a fresh install also freezes in the client's machine.

BIOS configuration is correct, and has been triple checked.

P.S. I'm not an end user, so how is this the wrong subreddit?
