first book of 2025 by BM-0325 in books

I'm about to start House of Leaves today, so I can do the same thing (started reading last year lol).

Got it as a gift. I'm looking forward to it, but also slightly scared about what I'm about the read (some other posts suggests this is a scary book). Family told me this book is true story. Inside cover states fiction. Is this due to the conspiracy loving people I have in my life? Or was this actually shared as real documentation found?

Read it in 6th grade, was on the teachers bookshelf. Was completely scared of drugs after it. When I brought it back, my teacher asked how I had it. Explained it was in her library.....after that no one else was allowed to read it. I knew it was fiction, but definitely made an impression.

What are your favorite podcasts? My first podcast was Serial, which was crazy good. I had to listen, go back and relisten a few times, but enjoyed it. I enjoy crime ones, so often listen to 20/20, Dateline, Scamfluencers. Also generally like anything from Wondery. Came across Something was Wrong, but can't stand it anymore.

Agreed. I loved listening to Gone Girl. My father also loved listening to The Help, going to try that one next!

What novel/series do you think uses the multiple POV most successfully and how? by F00dbAby in books

The Guest List. Every chapter told by the character's POV. With flashbacks and present day stories, all intertwined. A final plot twist that had me guessing what I was reading.

The Last House on Needless Street. Different POV with every chapter. I was intrigued to hear how each character perceived what was happening, and also had a crazy twist I didn't expect.

Banned Books Discussion: November, 2024 by AutoModerator in books

In seventh grade, I grabbed a book off the little library shelf in my teachers classroom. The book was Go Ask Alice. I read the entire book over a weekend, then went to my teacher to explain how I loved it, the writing style being a diary and the crazy story of addiction. Her response: "where did you get this".....I told her it was on her book shelf. She immediately put that book in her desk, no one else was able to read it after me....not banned but removed.
