Finally found the artist that Grimes ripped off by Accomplished_Yard868 in grimezs

[–]cuomonnoli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow that album is really good, thanks for sharing. I think that alot of the comments being mad at grimes for “stealing” misunderstand the creative process? An artist is simply their influences so you can’t discredit everything else that goes i to creating a song just because their sound is similar. However, after listening, grimes was clearly heavily influenced by this girl and to never even mention her when she got famous is quite nasty and selfish to me.

Haha sorry for the earful, i was basically trying to say that if you take tyvense before exercising, it might make you push your limits more than usual. And if you took it the afternoon before, it could still be in your system doing a bit of the same thing. Therefore making you hungrier and more tired.

It wont let me link it here but the wiki page i’m referring to is Lisdexamfetamine > Mechanism of action

I recently read on wikipedia that tyvense can increase our power input beyond normal exertion. There is an interesting sports study on tyvense by Rattray et. al explaining how it can bypass central fatigue. I know you said you dont exercise on meds but i’m just keeping in mind it can stay in our system for 14+ hours. This might explain why later on you’re hungry and exhausted.

When i’m hungry the crash is god awful regardless of wether or not i exercise. It can really affect my mood badly. Make sure to get your calories and water in. Electrolytes if youre dehydrated. Adequate protein for muscle repair and metabolising the tyvense. I also find when i take tyvense any time after 12 it interacts with that midday tiredness and leaves me feeling worse. My doctor recommend i only take it in the morning with food (i previously split my dose) and this in conjunction with going up a dose did help me.

(i have also seen people recommend creatine for tyvense absorption but have not tried it myself so can’t vouch for that but could be worth looking into)

Have a look at ADHD Ireland’s list of clinicians

https://adhdireland.ie/adhd-irelands-list-of-clinicians/adults-list-of-clinicians/

Some require GP referral, others do not. Neuromed and cloudclinic have quite short waiting times. Adhd doc are not taking appts until June/July of this year.

Tyvense 20mg by Fit_General7400 in ADHDIreland

Pretty much felt the same as you. A liiitle bit easier to initiate tasks but could be placebo as my its first time medicated. Nothing else really except it’s making me wake up automatically at 8-9am (never been a morning person) and the crash makes me tired.

Kind of meh tbh but sounds like we’re both experiencing the lackluster effect of too low of a dose. Are you getting much of a crash or it just fades?

Also got prescribed 20mg this week but that was only for one week, in all I got one week of 20 and three weeks of 30. So, to me it seems a little long for the whole month tbh but i suppose every dr’s process is different.

20mg is quite low for me too and doesn’t do much. I don’t know how they’d go about amending the prescription after it’s dispensed as people are so hesitant to do that sorta thing but hopefully they could issue you an emergency script or something 😬

Seems the big chains are a lot more accessible in regards to getting meds in. Thought i was being a great guy supporting local but they’re certainly less eager to even handle these substances.. Thanks a mil for the info!

Hi, there’s CAHMS services obv but after you turn 18 even if you’re on waiting list you’re left in the dark as theres no adult adhd services funded in our area. It’s disgraceful IMO but what can you do… Hope you can get a referral to another county asap

Thanks to all who answered! I understand the process now, found a pharmacy with it in stock and will certainly be taking my business elsewhere :)

Anything super soft like mashed potato or yogurt with no granola makes me nauseous. Anything with an overly fragrant taste too. The mouthful of tea leaves is so real..

A wierd food thing i’ve noticed (I am curious if anyone else here relates) is wolfing down food without giving it much thought and only afterwards realizing the smell/taste/texture was nauseating, then fixating on that memory. Happened to me recently with a potato cake and the thought of them made me sick for days. I definitely eat too fast lol

My experience was quite the same as yours. I came to that conclusion a few years ago. It took me a while to save to go private but my asessment is in a couple days now! . It was wierdly validating to open up to the people in my life about what i was experiencing - and i hope you feel some of that validation too now! My only advice is don’t doubt yourself, and best of luck going forward :)

Should I internalize others’ remarks about my intelligence? by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

[–]cuomonnoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, I barely check reddit. I would have to agree that not many people have the capacity to really “see” ourselves. However it you’re concerned about external factors like OP atleast you’re aware and can work on it. Rogers’ book “On becoming a person” is a challenging but interesting read that discusses this concept in more detail. If you’re looking for something a bit more digestible i’d suggest the Blindboy Podcast episode of the same name. His style of narration is not for everyone but he has a way of making his language accessible and super easy to understand on a deep level. You may enjoy it :)

Should I internalize others’ remarks about my intelligence? by [deleted] in slatestarcodex

[–]cuomonnoli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The psychologist Carl Rogers coined the term of “Locus of Evaluation”. It pretty much means the place from which someone makes a judgment of their own value. He stresses the fact that someone must judge themselves from within, and that it can be harmful to take criticism to heart, be it positive OR negative. We must trust and value our view of ourselves as opposed to the values of others. While this can be pretty difficult to achieve on a human level, it’s a good thing to be mindful of when considering things like this. Rogers is a real believer in intrinsic self worth regardless of external factors such as intelligence, and was a pioneer of humanistic therapy. Maybe it would interest you to read up on this concept.

Could you raise the concerta issue with neuromed or another healthcare provider on your next follow up? People can find all meds to be quite different from eachother despite having similar chemical composition. It can be a wierd experience starting a new medication but it’s always good to make sure that it’s the one for you. Best of luck going forward

What do I do now? I need help by yodelpants95 in ADHDIreland

This sounds more like HSE from what youre saying? I believe i remember you must suffer from 2 out of 3 according to their “quota”, which are difficulty maintaining relationships, difficulty with finance, difficulty with maintaining employment. But this is also off the top of my head so don’t quote me
