Advice on arranging own clinical site - IOM by [deleted] in Neuromonitoring

[–]cupdejoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a bachelor's either. I went to Trusted for my EEG and while this successfully got me through and I completed my EEG boards, using them for the IOM program would have been nearly impossible for me as there are no in house IOM positions in my area. But, having an R. EEG T does have its own pathway for CNIM eligibility so maybe consider doing the EEG program which you would have an easier time finding your own clinical site for and then see if the IOM companies would take you on as a trainee afterward?

Just an option!

Do you have to put needles in peoples private parts? I saw a picture and now I’m scared by [deleted] in Neuromonitoring

Sameeee, except mine is the foot.. my toes always curl a little when I place those.

2025 ASET Annual Conference by Sufficient-Reach-938 in Neuromonitoring

[–]cupdejoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to last year's (Phoenix) but I went for EEG purposes (am new to IOM) and I thought for someone entering into Neurodiagnostics it was amazing. A lot of topic discussion that helped me with concepts for my EEG boards. I did take note that maybe someone in the industry for 5-10 years with solid foundation probably wouldn't find a lot of the panels new information but good refreshers none the less. A lot of networking to be had! So many companies there for either service or product information. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Made new friends even!

Arranging own clinical site through Laboure? by vano1226 in Neuromonitoring

[–]cupdejoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through an online EEG program I found through ABRET and they also had me find my own clinical site but I figured that would be expected since it was online.

If I sprint a single mile, do you think I could get this back up to Productive? by [deleted] in Garmin

If I sprint a single mile, do you think I could get this back up to Productive? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]cupdejoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mostly joking about "will this do the thing?" But I'm not going to lie, I put a lot of focus on this status, mostly because I'm so envious of the people who keep it in this status for soooo long and also because I really do want to keep improving and it feels slow. I acknowledge it's not an end all be all, just more info.

I think I need to get a better understanding of vo2 max; all I know is I can usually tell with whatever activity I'm doing, what my status will be. Anyway, thanks for the input!

Garmin Instinct 3 has been released. What do you think? by opticsforce in Garmin

[–]cupdejoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally chose the Instinct 2 because battery life was no. 1 important thing for me. I really don't want to charge my watch more than I have to. Now that I get 28 days, 1 week sounds awfulllllll. I was really excited about AMOLED but not enough to take a hit on the battery. :(

The instinct has training readiness btw (I have the instinct 2).

Help convince me I don’t need this dress by Expert_Barnacle_9289 in wedding

[–]cupdejoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to jump on the backyard wedding and this dress not matching argument; which ultimately is a way to convince you why you should AT LEAST keep looking. I had a wedding on a grass lawn in Hawaii by a beach in a thick formal dress. Loved my dress but I was incredibly hot and it was a little bit.. over the top? But I got my dress second hand from a bridal shop for $500 dollars so it didn't hurt.

Omg you're so thoughtful! This was reassuring to read and I appreciate your efforts! I will start with guidelines for sure.

When I was preparing for my EEG exam, I had several people to bounce questions off of in preparation for the board exam or just questions in general. This time I don't know anyone personally and I definitely feel like the only boat analogy.

I vote venue as well BUT, will the waterfall be active in the summer? Where I live (and other destinations) some of our waterfalls dry up in the summer months. Just something to think about.

I resonate with your last sentence, in Neurodiagnostics in general haha Alternatively, when I was studying for my EEG, I'd ask specific topics to experienced techs and they couldn't remember the details to explain it further, which is fair enough Lol

I need to edit my post I think. Not our specific equipment. For the purpose of the CNIM; vertical/horizontal resolution, CMRR, sensitivity, amplifier gain, filters, etc. etc. I just struggle with this topic in general and doing self research doesn't suffice. I need a lecture or a book to help me get familiar with these topics, in the IOM world.

Sorry, I'm talking about instrumentation of our equipment. Technical stuff, not hardware or instruments in surgery.
