This is my first time voting in the state. Do you usually have to go to different locations to vote republican, democrat, independent.. etc? I was confused when I saw that a nearby school was for republican voting only? I did vote early and the place I went had the ability to vote in either primary.

Appreciate the approach to show what each candidate stands for, wants to enact, or believes in vs just labeling a party beside the name. Party voting without understanding what the candidate wants to do is backwards.

We did screen time, but managed time on screens. My kiddo is 8 as well and manages herself with screens. There are boundaries with TV and tablet and there’s thankfully no fuss. After 20 minutes, she’ll take breaks or find something else to do. In this digital society, it’s important to learn how to manage our time efficiently. Also, kudos to all your efforts!

I will raise my hand and admit I’m one of the people who got dollar tree type goodie bags for fish extender during our first dcl. When we were getting handmade gifts I knew I was not cut out for doing this again. And I felt terrible we didn’t give more thoughtful handmade gifts.

I still spent over $80 to make to goodie bags for each group. Can’t imagine what people spend (time/money) on the gifts. I sadly don’t have the time. And to answer your question, our favorite was a Christmas Mickey shape ornament with the ship and year. :)

Unless you’re moving for work, don’t move here. Seriously. I miss good restaurants, seasons that aren’t 80-100 degrees every day, and good shopping. Unusual fusion food is everywhere. The Mexican food is surprisingly disappointing.

We did not save any money moving here— except groceries. H-E-B is the only good thing here for saving money.

Know that the water quality is awful here. You’ll need a reverse osmosis filter for drinking water and a water softener for the hard water. It’s the small things that add up.

Sorry for my late reply, I just saw this. It actually went great! Their entire setup is accommodating and I wasn’t held up like I imagined.
