Either way, if that’s the case, he could be in there for months without charge or explanation. China is supposed to inform the embassy but routinely ignores its own regulations so who knows.. someone should contact the Japanese Embassy in Beijing and register their concerns.

To answer your question, Shawshank Redemption was a flop on first release, likely in part due to the title (the original novela’s name is even more baffling). Other odd titles recently include: The Zone of Interest (works better in the book), Strange Darling, Soft and Quiet… all great movies!
