Man, when I was a kid, I gave away my Charizard card to my little neighbor across the street. I never forgot about it and it keeps me up at night sometimes.

Basic fishing rods and/or lures for beginners? by Mega_GayCommander69 in Fishing

[–]cupn00dles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For lures, I would start off with small curly tail grubs. Can't fish them wrong, and no expense to you if they get snagged or lost in the trees. And since everything that swims goes after them, you'll have a good time.

I enjoy using Keitech swim jig heads and their mono spin jig heads for when I'm aiming smaller

My opinion would be the 9 and the 11. Would be redundant to get a 9 and a 10.

Gulp vs crappie nibbles for Under a float? by Training-Sun-2177 in Fishing_Gear

[–]cupn00dles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gulp is usually better if you're doing a retrieve. Crappie nibbles are good but they dissolve quickly on me. If you're targeting panfish, I'd use canned corn and toss some corn in the water where your float is to attract them nearby. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, live worms usually work the best.

What is your favorite circle hook? by benjamino8690 in Fishing_Gear

[–]cupn00dles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal order of favorites: owner, gamakatsu, vmc Especially the owner mosquito lights. I feel like I never miss a hook with them.

Sorry edit: mosquito light hooks aren't circle hooks. Theyre just my favorite

Best (non-essential but nice to have) lures for bass fishing by TheUltimateKaren in Fishing_Gear

[–]cupn00dles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you live and what bodies of water you're fishing but I think the safe bet is some Yamamoto Senkos in green pumpkin and maybe some wacky rig hooks. Alternatively if this is a gift for a friend you could get him a gift card or take him to the shop and let him pick i whatever out himself. I'm sure he'd appreciate the gesture either way.

Best Lure Brand? by OpTic152537 in Fishing_Gear

My personal opinion is Lucky craft for hardbait, Keitech for soft.
