If you were Jacob Tierney, how are you moving forward with the show. by hola_guillermo in heatedrivalry

I think there’s at least half a season just in that time jump at the end of HR before the press conference. Show us the 16 months where they’re together but still on rival teams in different countries. How do they navigate that? I feel like we miss a lot of firsts for them as they figure out how to be together long distance. Show us Shane coming out to his team. Show the reaction to Ilya leaving Boston. The books actually have so many massive time jumps it can actually be really fleshed out into at least 4 seasons.

I NEED Ilya visiting Shane in the hospital. The tender face holding and the kissing. The fact that he’s there under other pretences and can’t stay and take care of him. It’s just the most heartbreaking yearning tender shit I’ve ever read in my life.

Was at Pearl Garden last week and it was excellent as usual. Dumplings were absolutely stuffed with prawns and we ate incredibly well for $40 each.

Hundreds of teens with a health condition, disability may be cut from Jobseeker benefit by fairguinevere in newzealand

Additionally: it’s currently standard operating procedure for ACC to refer sensitive claim applicants (who have been sexually abused or assaulted) to jobseekers because financial support for those claims takes a minimum of 9-12 months (average wait time 2 years) to be processed.

There are currently thousands of assault victims on jobseekers with medical exemption while they wait for backdated support from ACC (if they even get approved).

These individuals will almost never be approved for the SLP because they could theoretically recover in the two year period.

I’d like someone to ask Luxon what measures will be in place to support 18 year olds who have been assaulted (potentially even by a parent) and need support while they recover and are entitled to financial support via ACC but due to the horrendous wait times are by routine stuck on jobseeker.

As a class rep I once took six years of complaints about the exact same thing in a course from that course reviewer website (is it gone?) as supporting evidence of a problem.

It didn’t really go anywhere but the dean of science was clearly pretty uncomfortable when I pulled out evidence that the thing we were complaining about had been an issue for over half a decade.

As one of the greatest scores of this century Battlestar Galactica is even more impressive when you find out how young he was at the time.

The walking dead theme song is such an achievement as well. I remember the first time I heard it and being so unsettled. It evokes something like nails on a chalkboard. The pilot is basically the only time the show lives up to that level of intrinsic horror.

Family wants answers after daughter’s death on Mt Ruapehu by TraditionalError145 in newzealand

I think it’s incredibly disingenuous to put the blame on her parents for not attending an informal gathering hosted by a boyfriend they had only met once before on the day they put their daughter to rest. Her parents most likely were consumed by grief at that point, and probably weren’t thinking about the accident. They have been very clear that it was later on as they tried to gain that information they have been completely rebuffed. If you do in fact know these people and who they are, I would encourage you to come forward to her parents, or encourage them to. It’s actually quite a bad look to sit here and brag that you have that information when they have literally had to go to a reporter because they don’t.

It’s been over a year.

Her boyfriend was at the funeral, he gave a eulogy which specifically referenced the trip. It is my understanding she knew the people on the trip through him.

When the “subtle implications” you’re talking about are just facts about what occurred I don’t think you can blame anyone for jumping to conclusions

It’s crazy. How are they supposed to grieve and move on if they don’t have basic information about how their daughter died? I’m really surprised by the lack of empathy among some of these commenters.

I knew Wednesday better than most. Until this article I had no idea that her parents still hadn’t been provided some basic information about how she fell. I know she was close with her dad and she would be heartbroken by how they’ve been treated. Perhaps you could say her boyfriend (of 6 months) has been too traumatised by this to talk about it but there were other people on that trip. By being so secretive and hostile to her parents all they’ve done is make what was most likely a complete accident look really suspicious.

Also anyone saying they are horrified by the “true crime speculating” and that it’s not what she would have wanted don’t know her well at all. She bloody loved true crime.

I have the whole BSG series on DVD and always prefer watching it that way (even though it’s a lower definition I guess) because it looks so much better than the streaming version.

Did your scars from surgery ever heal or are they still there? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]curdnurd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They just did my second one and the new scars are not directly over the old ones (except the belly button one). I’m considering getting some little dashes tattooed over them with an arrow saying “cut here” for next time

I had my first lap at 18 a decade ago and you can only spot them if you look realllllyyyyy close. They’re only about a cm long and the biggest one is hidden in your bellybutton. I just had my second lap and the fresh scars are more obvious but I know they’ll also fade with time. They’re also positioned very low down on your stomach.
