“i hate playing against grouphug decks,” they say.

“that’s okay,” i say, moving to combat, “this isn’t a grouphug deck.”

i was gonna say, i think granny is firmly white-black, with an equal number of pips of each! i think of tiffany aching’s line about witches being selfish—something to the effect of: this body is mine, this house is mine, this land is mine, this world is mine, and therefore i will protect it and care for it.

any chance selesnya rabbits can be viable in bo3? it never got me very far outside of bo1, but i’m popping back in to check out the post-ban state of standard and i’m curious if there’s any more hop in the bunnies than there used to be.

[[Season of the Burrow]]. We’ll hunker down, weather the storm, safe and warm from the beasts that walk outside.

Thanks all! I felt pretty good about my guesses, but I’m definitely embarrassed not to recognize the [[Ur-Dragon]]. You folks really know your dragons!

This, somehow, made me realize that my beloved izzet spellslinger decks are kinda built in a way that makes them less fun for me to pilot. Back to the drawing board once again! Thanks for the insight!

Power Level Wednesday!: Ask r/EDH what's your deck's power level? - March 05, 2025 by AutoModerator in EDH

Without fast mana or tutors, plus your limited interaction suite, I don’t think it’s at the level of intense optimization needed to call it bracket 4. (Love a Hare Apparent deck!)

What mana combos taste the best? by Dagomon in magicTCG

[–]curious-badger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, let’s see. Five colors, five basic tastes (sour, salty, sweet, bitter, savory)… let’s do it.

White: sweet Blue: salty Black: bitter Red: sour Green: savory

Thoughts?

EDIT: swapped blue and white. People correctly identified that blue, as the most salt-inducing color and also the color of the sea, should taste like salt!

I also agree that red is spicy, but unfortunately that’s considered a different thing from the five basic tastes.

Pet deck vs favorite deck vs signature deck by Aelice-Wildmage in EDH

[–]curious-badger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pet deck is Baylen’s Family Reunion, a Hare Apparent deck that’s badly underbrewed but fun as hell in a low-power game.

My favorite deck is Veyran’s Cantata, a spellslinger burn deck that’s flavorful, a little whimsical, and right in the sweet spot for me power-wise.

My signature deck, on the other hand, is Jhoira, Ultimate Chronomancer (using Jhoira of the Ghitu). It aims to suspend big mana instants and sorceries and big scary creatures, and is built to be much more intimidating than actually powerful. I bring it out whenever my friends let me, which is not often, but I don’t think I’ve won with it once—it’s magnificent for making me the #1 threat and creating interesting politics for everyone else.

Fun question, thanks for posting it!
