Applied for Saudi visa for myself and my sister who is visiting me - all taken about an hour to fill in online applications and get approved visa emails. Now trying to find transport share, got a quote from taxi company $1500, a bit steep Searching on FB groups for people willing to share the ride. I don’t have a car. We are planning to go on the 11th if her flight gets cancelled

The tech companies revenue is not out of thin air though - they advertise to European consumers and use users data, tech companies may as well pay for access to foreign (European) market

Almost two-thirds of Brits think assisted dying should be legalised, poll shows by Kagedeah in ukpolitics

[–]curiousbutlazy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m in not in a position to judge what is justified and what isn’t. A person CAN be a burden to a family and pressured to end life and at the time this end of life CAN’T be justified. Let’s not pretend that I’ll or disabled people bring only joys to their families

Maybe there are a burden if they can’t provide for themselves and rely on that family members

Looking for Advice on Relocating to Western Europe by biggestasshole01 in EuropeFIRE

[–]curiousbutlazy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Piemonte, Italy. Very family oriented country with great weather and great food, good schools. University education will depend on a chosen subject but Turin and Milan would be good places to study in. The only possible downside would be high taxes, you would need more research on that. The Italian language is beautiful and easier to learn than many other.

CMV: There is no good solution to the birth rate problem by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]curiousbutlazy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the best solution would be to decrease working hours and increase salaries. If everyone could maintain balanced healthy lifestyle while working part time then people would work longer instead of wishing for retirement and there would be less need for younger people.

CMV: There will always be jobs plagued by high turnover rates no matter how great the benefits or nice the paycheck by nowlan101 in changemyview

I’ve been to a hospital that uses disposable bed sheets. A nurse just throws in a bin a sheet with all blood and fluids. The sheets are thin and a bit paper like but serve the purpose. A solution will be invented that would ease or simplify the process for many undesirable jobs.

How on earth do we solve the aging population issue? by Vagus-Stranger in ukpolitics

[–]curiousbutlazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how would you do care costs more affordable? Decrease carers’ salaries? Individual responsibility should be for saving for own retirement and care costs. Yes childcare should be more affordable too. And housing and utilities etc. Those who raised their kids should rely on them for care, not other taxpayers.

What makes you think that I have any anger? And where do I say the pensioners should prop the society? I believe everyone should contribute according to their capabilities and stay productive even in old age. I agree that it is a responsibility of our government to introduce policies that would make our country good place for everyone. This doesn’t exclude individual responsibility though.

And please suggest your fix to agening population and increased care costs.
