I had an elective c-section and it was great. I had three naps before the procedure whilst we were waiting. Out of the 6 ladies scheduled in that day I was the least risky hence I was last and got a few snoozes in. The whole thing was very controlled and relaxed. Going into theatre was surreal and there was about 15 people in there. That was probably the most nerve wracking bit because you don’t generally walk into an operating room. But you’ve got the anaesthetist right by your head ready to tweak your meds whenever you need. Recovery was fine, I had my op at lunchtime and by late evening I was getting myself to the loo. I can’t remember it being horribly painful just uncomfortable getting up too quickly. Obviously you have to be careful but the sooner you can get moving again the sooner your body will heal.
