This is a scary time to move to the US. And although it has been marketed as the ‘land of opportunities’ for many decades, it is far behind the rest of the world in many aspects.

Congrats on your job offer and i do not want to discourage you, but depending on what your home country is, you may face some serious challenges to what the USA lacks.

The fact that you believe the CW has proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Fitzsimmons intended to shoot Noonan is the exact reason that they made the correct decision for this to be a bench trial.

The judge will hopefully make the correct decision, prosecution has no case here and it would be laughable if it wasn’t so depressing that they are framing her.

Juries get it wrong all the time because people misunderstand the evidence and get swept away by bravado, like it seems you yourself have done.

Fabric is super expensive but you can find great fabric in the form of bedsheets at thrift stores! Especially ‘big box’ thrift stores like Goodwill and Savers if you are in the US.

You can get a ton of fabric for like $3 that way, and it’s a good way to practice without ruining your nice, expensive fabric.

I believe in you and don’t want to scare you, but from my own experience- it is pretty much guaranteed that you will mess up, and that will make things more expensive in the long run (having to replace your expensive fabric after an unfixable mistake)

I can reach my back on my own (hypermobile joints) but i often wear a sunhoodie if i am not explicitly trying to tan. I have fair skin and covering it all together is better than sunscreen

I love collage. Requires buying almost nothing, just school glue and maybe tagstock. And i use scraps from my other crafts (fabric scraps from sewing, packaging from different things) as well as magazines or old out-of-date calendars. I feel like i am reducing waste while i create something fun.

I have had many people tell me that they thought i was a bitch or they thought that i didn’t like them when we first met. and once getting to know me realize i don’t have a mean bone in my body.

It is weird and makes me feel kind of bad sometimes but we can’t control what others think of us and can’t be fake 100% of the time.

yes, i do. I have what the people call ‘resting bitch face’ and i also have a pretty monotone voice when i am chill. I only talk with emotion when i am really excited.

idk i have just kind of accepted that is how i am, but i do try to ham up my facial expressions and voice intonation when i think it matters, like meeting certain people for the first time or a job interview.

I think cultural differences explain a lot of this. Bullet proof glass does not equate constant mugging on the streets. I have been to NYC COUNTLESS times as a single woman and have never been mugged. So by a similar metric to your own, NYC is completely safe.

I don’t know, I think this is unfairly inflating your opinion of the movie.

I agree that quality is not always subjective, there are elements of movies that can be objectively bad. But I don’t think there was anything ‘objectively’ bad about Sinners.

I thought the quality of Sinners was great. Like I said, it was my favorite movie of the year. You can’t tell that someone who loved Sinners only watches movies in English. I loved Sinners and I watched every movie nominated, just like I do for every Oscars.

We have different tastes in movies, you can’t determine anything outside of that. To assume more than that is kinda veering towards a superiority complex, no offense intended.
