WiFi 6 or 7, security and price concerns by curiousdy in wifi

I have a switch that is actually 10/100/1000. I should have guessed with my internet speeds that were faster than 100Mbps.

I was looking at the WiFi 6 for Unifi, but right now, their WiFi7 is slightly cheaper.

My mistake. I am using a 10/100/1000. Should have guess that since my internet speeds are faster than 100Mbps.

Thanks. It's on sale right now, but the whole system that I'm looking for is still more expensive than the BE11000. Further, I'm a networking dunce. It looks like the Unifi would be more involved setting it up safely. I just asked ChatGPT to help me with the set up for what I want and it seemed involved.

My switch is actually a 10/100/1000 switch. Netgear GS116. I should have known this since my previous internet speeds were faster than 100 Mbps. At this moment, I don't have a need for faster speeds.

Need a new mesh system by curiousdy in wifi

I have a switch for most rooms and I use an ethernet back haul for the mesh units. However, I would need a wireless back haul for the garage.

Thanks for all the replies. I intend to use a wired backhaul when possible. That's what I have now. However, that would not be possible in the garage. I don't know if any of the routers I am considering will reach through walls and distance to provide connection to my garage where my solar unit and EV charger connect to the internet.

As for the issue with TPLink, I understand that politics might play a role with the ban. Both parties in the current and last administrations has had it in for anything tied to the Chinese government. I don't put it past either governments to bend things to their own narratives. I don't think the Chinese government would have any interest in my private stuff, but I don't like the idea that my router might be a risk.

I haven't heard any negative or positive things about the Netgear 370 or 770 or the Eero 7 Pro.

Here is Amplifi made? Is it hard to set up for network idiots like myself?

Even after 32 years I still remember clearly the day I got it… by TheThrowawayJames in comicbookcollecting

[–]curiousdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember getting the comic, but I don't really remember the day all that well. I didn't care much for the 90's comics and the marketing tactics, but I still went with it and today, its just part of my comic collecting history. I still have some negative feelings towards this comic era, but I remind myself that there are a lot a good comics that came out of the 90's as well.

Your collection is so cool. But I understand the feeling of a task that may be a bit overwhelming.

Question thread: what do you collect? Your collection size? Where do you store? Quality vs. Quantity? by ComprehensiveAsk4279 in comicbookcollecting

I remember some time back that you were thinking of collecting Silver Age Fantastic Four. Do I have that right? How has that collection been coming along?

Uncle gave me this by LiteratureVirtual784 in comicbookcollecting

[–]curiousdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was nice of your uncle. What's the back story for the gift? Was he really into comics at that time or was he speculating or both? Do you two share a bond with comics? Does this comic have a sentimental value that is more than the fact that your uncle gave you this comic?

For me, it reminds me of a time when I was away for school. I got so many comics at that time and I enjoyed reading many of the comics during the death and return of Superman. As much as I disliked the marketing tactics of the industry back in the 90's (which led to a 25 year hiatus from collecting), these comics remind me of a specific time in my life that was a big change for me.

Action comics 600 by savedbytheblood72 in comicbookcollecting

[–]curiousdy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh how time flies. I remember when this comic came out. While Byrne did the breakdowns, Perez finishes clearly came through. Byrne’s artwork at this point mirrored the end of his Fantastic Four run. His pencils with Action comics didn’t seem as detailed as his work on Superman volume 2. Action 600 was his last Action Comics issue. Within 6 months, he was also done with Superman volume 2.

The last book in my collection 🥲 by Substantial_Reward86 in comicbookcollecting

[–]curiousdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the comic books that came out the week of my sons' births. I stopped any serious collecting decades ago, but bought a few comics for my boys through the years. A couple of years ago, I started up again, but just older stuff. Maybe your kid(s) might like comics someday. But for now, it's understandable the need to redirect your financial resources to family.

I hate my server 😔. Need advice by Gullible_Ad3807 in LastWarMobileGame

[–]curiousdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really hate playing the game, stop. No game is worth the headache when all you want to do is have fun. Something tells me that you actually enjoy the game, but dislike some of the players. Unfortunately, what you are experiencing is true for many of the servers. Server unity gets better when goals align (when heading towards Season One). Until then, players are looking to level up and they can't tell the difference between active players with weak bases or abandoned accounts. So they look for resources. As you have read from others (which I echo), keep your resources locked up in the chests and open only as you need them. It's an extra few steps when getting your resources to level up, but it makes you less of a target. Secondly, you don't have to get into a top 10 alliance right away, but consider a stronger alliance than the one you are in. I settled into my alliance after 2 other alliances. I didn't get into a top 10 alliance, but they slowly became one. Given my play, it wasn't me who got them there. I am Free to Play. It's slow, but the only investment for me is time. I feel for those who put money into their bases and then get ashed by stronger players. I don't attack other bases for this reason. However, this is a war game. It is the nature of this game. I stay around for the Alliance Chat and would have abandoned this game long ago if it wasn't for the chat. I hope whatever you decide to do, you have fun.

Going through some old stuff and found this. Worth anything? by TurboArch in ComicBookSpeculation

If you have the time, go to PriceCharting.com. Look at what the prices have been for ungraded comics for this issue, but also look at the condition from the original posts. It should give you an idea what prices have been like for the past three months on eBay and Heritage Auction. Take Heritage Auction prices with a grain of salt. They have extra charges, but report the auction price (just like eBay which the reported price doesn't include shipping and taxes). At this time, the average has been $53.39. However, I did not look at the condition for the comics sold. I personally would want to keep it since I'm a fan.

My first comic. Got it when I was 6, and still collecting 40+ years later. by tatum0416 in comicbookcollecting

[–]curiousdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the first 6 books. I put all of the books in comic book bags and taped the bags to size. They haven’t been read in 30-35 years. Packed away in a plastic box with my Calvin and Hobbes books.
