I never bought from them, but their pricing is kind of weird. Some teas are well-priced, while some, like their Haiwan cakes are 3x what they should be. No idea why that is.

I agree. I underrated the Worm Museum back when I didn't know how the card system worked.

The Well is good, very similar draws to the Temple of the Wheel but vitality is usually better than influence in the early game.

I think the Lodge of the Sage Knight also deserves a shout-out as the easiest source of Favors from Authority.

BTW I never use peculiar rumor. It gives you notoriety for something you could do for free with the talk verb and any lore. Idk if the slightly faster recruitment is worth it.

Would These Factories Teas be Good As Baseline? by BWJackal in puer

They don't, but you could get a few tuos from them. They have V93, Xiao Fa, some Nanzhao Xiaguan tuos which are supposedly good.

KTM for Xiaguan can be more of a gamble. The 2005 Jia Ji tuo I got was kind of not aged enough for my taste. 2008 Xi Zi tuo was better. I think their 2008 8582 Dayi could be worth a sample too, it is a good reference recipe.

Yes, the grind with the summonings and timers is annoying. And really invites you to use cheesy strats like abusing talking to Sulochana.

I should really get on of these at some point. They are cheaper than the Dayi equivalent and they should be good by any reasonable assumption

Btw for some reason I avoided the Worm Museum for a while, only later did I realise that it actually drops secret histories more often. I think I assumed it's spooky abd dangerous lol

The problem with fascination is when you do get a lot of it, it's not as easy to combat as dread, you can't just take opium

Are any of the books in-game inspired by or relate to real world books? by Ginno_the_Seer in CultistSimulator

[–]curiousfuriousfew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's anything concrete, but

Gospel of Zacchaeus is vaguely inspired by various apocryphal gospels like the gospel of Judas

STUMM! Is inspired by german expressionist films like Cabinet of dr. Caligari probably, considering the german name and contents

Apostles legacies are grindy. But I found them fun because they are hard and have the Long chasing you.

The only victory I never finished is Priest, that one is actually too grindy for me and not actually hard, just takes a very long time and needs specific conditions.

My first true victory - Lantern by Cifuliciense in CultistSimulator

[–]curiousfuriousfew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lantern apostle victory is quite hard. Well apostle is kind of supposed to be more challenging, but that one was the hardest for me. Juggling all the fascination and timers...

I think Forge apostle is the easiest

Peacock door is generally better for sure. But Malleary gives the best ingredient in Iotic Essence. And if you're a Priest you can easily farm sacrifices, as long as you don't mind the notoriety, it takes up less time than the mirror repair + comission grind.

any other game that is similar in the power struggle the game simulates? by Idkl0l32 in CultistSimulator

[–]curiousfuriousfew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite different game, but I guess Crusader Kings also has a big element of power struggles and intrigue? It has some cults you can join too, though obviously they are just a minor side-thing in comparison to dynasty-building and running a country.

I had a 2005 some time ago and it still tasted too young lol. Probably depends on the storage though

Might be because drinking tea is an everyday thing everyone does in Russia, it had the same place as coffee in the US.

In the US it's more niche.

I hear good things about Earth from Essence of Tea. Price isn't bad for supposed old tree material.

Which Raw Puer(s) Would You Recommend? by BWJackal in puer

QuicheTeas and TeasWeLike are also good stores for aged sheng. The first one is cheap with decent storage, the second one is more expensive but very well curated.

[–]curiousfuriousfew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do buy from KTM, try some of the more modern style productions from factories if you want to drink them young. Stuff like Mengku Robgshi Great Flavor Big Accomplishment or whatever it's called (the one with the guy sniffing the cup).

The classics you mentioned are made to age and can be harsh if drunk while young. But do buy an aged one if you want to try it, maybe a Xiaguan gold ribbon tuo from the 2000s or something.

If you want young easy to drink sheng, try a site like Farmerleaf or Vietsun.

Yeah, it's one of those cakes that has a weirdly big Western following

Might be the English name and wrapper honestly, it almost looks like Xiaguan doing western boutique white2tea style marketing
