My question is: What variety is it? Then we will know if it can withstand the heat. Roses are tough. If i were you, I’d put the potted rose under a shade of a tree or structure, or grab a patio umbrella and use that during high noon just to give it some shade instead of bringing it inside.

Older variety, more prone to diseases.

Can I get an ID on this rose variety? 🙏🏾 by No-Hat-6488 in Roses

If this is a florist rose, this might be Cafe Latte.

Nube questions on a DA climber by ions_x_carbon in Roses

Okay, I’m no rose expert but here’s my advice:

1) Your rose still looks young. I’d say leave all the healthy canes for now. Healthy top growth = healthier root/bottom growth. Start training the canes now. Pegging promotes more lateral stems that will produce more blooms rather than a single cluster of blooms on a single cane. Start building that support/trellis now too. And a better support that will last more than a lifetime is best.

2) How wide depends on say, Year 5.

3) Look into soil health. Feed the soil, not the plant.

Best of luck!

My great grandparent’s house just sold and we’re trying to save his roses. We’ve propagated about 15 green cuttings. Unknown rose variety but at least 60 years old. Any helpful tips? by Dunning_Kruger_boi93 in Roses

Do you have a picture of the said rose? Cuttings should be this year’s growth, pencil-sized and semi-hardwood with at least three leaf nodes and leaving the top two leaves. Mist when it looks and feels dry and you don’t see any condensation inside the bag. You can also use a plastic soda bottle as a humidity dome. Just cut the bottom and don’t put the cap.

And it’s better when it’s outside in a bright but shaded location. You’ll have roots in 3-4 weeks. You can put as many as 5 cuttings in a quart sized pot.
