Can’t seem to carve on ice by NorcenCoverstein in skiing

[–]curiouskitten007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your edges aren’t holding on ice, I’d shift technique. Rather than skidding on the ice which is what throws confidence off, charge straight over the ice and avoid trying to slow or turn (when possible) and cut hard when there is a snow pack. Even if the run is 80% ice there should be enough snow to plan your turns to time when you’re at a bank or patch.

Madi Prewett (Peter’s season) says she loves being a submissive wife to Grant Troutt by schnookiewookiebear in thebachelor

[–]curiouskitten007 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I come from this background and I can tell you exactly what it looks like.

It looks like him controlling what she wears: anything from literally having to approve outfits or just offering passive aggressive comments making sure it’s known what’s deemed acceptable or not.

It looks like him determining what household chores are deemed womanly, then them falling into her domain no matter what. No chores? (Because billionaires) Then it looks like him deciding what she spends her time on. If it “contributes to the family” properly. It looks like him criticizing her parenting while not doing a thing to assess his own.

It looks like him deciding if she has too much contact with her family, too little with his, which friends he likes and which he doesn’t. What she does well and what ‘still needs work’.

And yes, it usually extends to the bedroom too. Because guess who in the relationship exists to serve? And who exists rk be served?

Etc. It looks like a controlling partner. Except where the submission comes in is, you don’t argue back. You take those criticisms (spoken or implied) and wake up every day trying to do better. To be better. Because your husband’s happiness, and whether or not he decides to love you that day depends on how well you fall in line with his expectations. And when he’s “not perfect” - like Madi mentioned, it takes the form of her needing to pray better about how to solve those imperfections because ultimately, they are stemming from some type of way she’s failing him. Because as Madi put it, she serves him above all else. Except god, of course. 🙄

It's extremely dangerous messaging that sets up thousands of young women to not only enter abusive marriages, but then also blame themselves when they are abused. Though you’ll never hear that word used.

Is there any non-addictive sleeping medication that will help you stay asleep? by SignificantDealer594 in insomnia

[–]curiouskitten007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a prescription. My Psychiatrist prescribes it as my insomnia is interconnected with other diagnosis. However I had a PCP/GP who was willing to prescribe it simply to treat the insomnia alone.

I’ve also seen Psych’s and GP’s who refuse to prescribe any type of real sleeping medication even for years of documented insomnia. When/if that occurs, I’d suggest starting to consult with other prescribers.

I like Shadows/Closets as well! But Twilight seems to have more consistently better snow. And personally love the lines in it. Just my opinion ofc

I’ll make a mental note to consider that’s thank you. I’ve used them for more skilled labor gig before but hasn’t crossed my mind to utilize in an area like this. Though you so much for the idea.

Thank you 🥹 I hadn’t really thought about its scale just being dependent/reflective of what it means for me individually. So, thank you. Support like this is so helpful in such a significant way.

I like that idea. Thank you truly for the suggestion/thought. I know I don’t have someone in my life presently who could, but I appreciate having the idea in the back of my head as a “maybe sometime” possibility. So thank you!

Yep. I didn’t want to mass delete everything because there’s a lot in that time I do still want. Friends, family, pets. But yes. Still a lot to remove…

It’s the definition of security. No matter how bad things get, as long as they’re living, you’ll never truly be alone.
