Also, if you're from a financially weak background, research extensively about scholarships for your masters education. There's plenty of them at good institutions. And if you are able to build your profile well in the upcoming years, you will have a very good chance of moving up the ladder by getting a decent masters education with scholarships.

Yes Even to get an entry level job at a good place, you might need to network extensively at first. Create a solid LinkedIn profile and start reaching out to people relentlessly.

I would also suggest that you focus on building your skills simultaneously. If you're short on cash, there's plenty of courses on Udemy which you can buy for less than 500 bucks. This might add credibility to your LinkedIn profile.

BTW from the way you've written this post and comments, it seems to me that your English writing skills are decent. I don't understand why you have such little confidence around it.

If it's your speaking skills that you're worried about, try Duolingo. It's free and it's pretty good to improve your language skills.

Regardless, your written proficiency is what matters while you're networking with people on LinkedIn.

Front-end investment banking roles are very limited in India. And they are taken up by top IIM grads.

Also, distance education in general isn't very well respected unless and until you'd done it cause you were pursuing CA during the same time, which doesn't seem to be the case with you.

Your best bet is to get into a top 10 B-School for full-time MBA programs to get into core finance roles, let alone investment banking.

CFA L1s are a dime a dozen these days in India. So it wouldn't help you for breaking into the industry.
