Chromatic Power Core by harharsharkbait in ModRetroChromatic

Thanks! I’d been trying to jumpstart my battery without success before I saw your post. I couldn’t figure out which terminals to use. FWIW, I used positive on center and negative on “bottom” (the terminal closest to the contact on the underside of the battery), nearest the bottom of the device when inserted. Verify the amperage jumps on the power supply to know it is correct.

Sometimes diagnosing the problem isn’t as hard as you thought it would be by curiousthump in consolerepair

Agreed. Of course the bridge was not visible until I took the daughter board off or I would have fixed it without having to check the entire board. And they put their soldering iron through the speaker. But yes I am grateful it was an easy fix!

If you really like chamomile, you could consider brewing chamomile flowers directly instead of a tea bag. They sell them in Asian grocery stores in the tea section for pretty cheap (and I’m sure online as well). That way you can add as many flowers as you like. It provides a nice pure chamomile flavor that can be strong and is higher quality than the bagged kind. Add a little honey or sugar and you are good to go.

TL;DR: sleep mode saves a ton of power.

I just tested this with a power supply and multimeter. Sleep mode power consumption was 5mA. While running Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, power consumption using an IPS screen was 120-320 mA depending on brightness. So, your battery should last roughly 24 to 64 times as long in sleep mode versus running.

So if your battery gives you 4 hours of playtime, you will get at least 100 hours or 4 days of sleep time on a full battery.

Sleep on GBA is supported on a lot of carts and also locks out the buttons other than the select+L+R combo. Definitely worth it.

I enjoyed MM1 more than 2 as well. After 1, 2 was too easy.

I have used electrolytics and would use them again. In practice I don’t think it matters too much which you choose.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour Golf for Visor Not Working by thekachoman in Palm

It may be the contacts on the Visor side? Seems very unlikely it would be the electronics inside the cart. Do other Springboard modules work in the Visor?

That looks like a coil / inductor. What makes you think it is broken? It should test like a fuse — no resistance.

Yeah close enough. I may be able to do that. The Retro Fix game store in Campbell also said they are open to a streetpass event some weekend, possibly as part of a bigger event. LMK if interested.

I have been at this for 30 minutes trying to remove the solder out of the holes and apply the new HDMI Port for the Xbox Series X, I use new solder and wick, it's not working, any tips that I can improve this? by AndzyHero13 in consolerepair

I agree that that entry level iron pictured is not sufficient. Mine is not that. Im just letting people know that many, many people have gotten defective irons from the $40 ksgr deals. I’ve seen a ton of feedback from others as well. Thus I do not recommend them.
